Borat on Blu would be awesome, not for PQ or AQ (which would still be an improvment over DVd) but because of what they could do with the packaging and menus
I loved how the DVD was made to look like a crappy kazikstan pirate copy of the film, i imagine the blu would be the same, Probabaly titled "Borat Blue-Rai" and there could be some interesting interactive features |

Anyone know if CLOVERFIELD and BORAT were shot on cameras with similar specs? If they were shot with similar technology and CLOVERFIELD can sparkle on BD, I have to imagine BORAT has an equal chance. I'm holding out that it will be released on Blu with BRUNO.
And like I said, BORAT is available in the PS3 store in HD FWIW. Also, I love how people get their panties in a bunch over BORAT. Just because you thought it was awful means it shouldn't be on BD? Okay... |

I've seen the region free Blu-Ray release of Borat on ebays for around $38 U.S. plus shipping from U.S. sellers who are probably importing it from Great Britain, but I was hoping we here in North America would get a release, that with a little more realistic price around $20.
Anyone here know of a North America release date? |

I've been waiting and waiting and waiting, and I got tired so I finally bought it (UK one - Region Free). I googled "Borat blu-ray" and clicked on "Shopping" and then found the cheapest price. I got my copy for $27 with free shipping which is pretty good considering the ones on eBay and Amazon are $35-$40
$26 is what a lot of Blu-Ray's cost anyways, so when it does come to North America, I wont be pissed to see I overpaid. I hate buying a "rare" iten to then just have it be wide-released for half of what I paid lol. CDwow.com is the place I got mine. Never used it (or heard of it) before, but it seems like a decent site. I used Paypal, and it's equifax secure so I wasnt too worried about getting ripped off. Here's the link: http://www.cdwow.us/blu-ray/borat-2006/dp/6099441 I'll update this when I receive it (7-10 business days), and i'll let you know if it's worth buying on Blu-Ray, or just sticking to DVD. |
