My best friend of 10+ years just got a PS3 and I was reluctant to lend him any of my movies at first. However I've loaned him a few and he kept them in good shape and gave them back to me quickly

I guess it just depends on who you are lending them to....

Nope. Aint gonna happen. My friends are heathens and I've had first hand experience of countless dvds coming up missing or never being returned. I wish one of them would ask to "borrow a blu ray". I'm pulling out razor blades and lemon juice.

That's a bit extreme I think but to each his own. Makes my friends feel a bit better when they hear I don't even lend out movies to family, well not movies that leave my house anyways.

I never have and never will lend out any of my blus. My brother trying putting my on the spot in front of my entire family by asking and when I told him no he was upset with me.

Listen, you make more money than I do, stop being cheap and go buy your own and stop asking for mine. I use to lend out by DVD's and when one of them came back scratched, that was the last time.

I must have been born without the sharing gene. Don't get me wrong, I am a very generous person, I just don't like others to use what is mine. I don't get why certain people feel this swapping of each others personal items is one of the main ingredients in a relationship

I will gladly show them where they can get great deals themselves, or give them a great gift, but what's mine is mine.
I absolutely HATE getting something back from someone that is completely oblivious to the fact that when you borrow something, you should return it in at least as good of condition as it was when you got it from me.
I have this one friend that is always trying to borrow my BLUs, but every time I am at his house I see his DVDs (not in the cases) strewn all over the place with at least a 3 to 4 week layer of dust on them. So I tell him "HELL NO, you can't even take care of your stuff, why would I let you borrow mine, especially when you don't have the money to replace my stuff if you don't return it to me without leaving your mark on it?"

EDIT: I should start letting him borrow them with the condition that he leave a deposit ha ha ha

The only person i lend to is my older brother, & i have a really hard time letting them go even if some of the blu-rays i lend aren't the greatest of the bunch.

Yes... I do all the time. They share some with me too so it is a good trade off.

I am not that picky about them as long as I can view them when I want.
