Hell no, nobody can borrow anything from me unless I'm getting something in return of equal value.
Wanna borrow Call of Duty? Cool, I'll borrow Hitman Wanna borrow Scarface steelbook? Fine, I'll take... then again, you can't borrow that, here's Blow, pass me Donnie Brasco. |

Honestly, no...because neither my friends or family know how to take care of things. The last time I let a friend borrow a movie was a DVD. "Hey, man...can I borrow that?" Sure, I said. Right, two days later, I go to his house and the disc is sitting on the coffee table with liquid on it and cigarette ashes. The case is on the floor....

I've only lent out The Town, and they only ended up using the DVD version. Needless to say when I visited him a couple days after I found it laying on the coffee table and little scratched up. I'll definitely have a talk with him if he asks to burrow another movie.

I've never had any issues with getting the returned damaged. I just forget I lend them out and forget who I lent them to! I've started making a list so I know. I also only lend to family members or close friends who I know will take care of the movie.

I'll lend out my movies to those i know will take care of them. usually big movie buffs like myself lol. and if a movie comes with a slipcover i don't give them the slipcover because i don't want it damaged. there are also certain movies that will never leave my house like the star wars saga, the godfather collection, titanic and others

I never used to, but I've gotten a little better about it. I'll lend my DVDs out pretty freely (a lot of my friends haven't even converted to Blu-Ray), but Blu-Rays I'm a bit more hesitant about.
My aunt and uncle like to borrow movies from me a lot. They usually watch them right away and return them within a week, so it's never an issue. I always take the slipcovers off, though. They're very careful, but still, it's so easy to ruin a slipcover that I'd rather it just stayed with me. I've got some backup cases too that I'll occasionally throw the disk in so that the case stays with me at all times. |

I used to loan out my DVD's. Never once did I get one back that wasn't scratched up at least a little (sometimes a lot). I also used to leave my collection in the living room so my roommates could watch stuff. Too often discs would disappear even though I asked they weren't removed from the room and I'd have to go looking for them or discs would be lying around the room instead of put away.
I don't loan out my Blu's now, but I do happily loan out any DVD I have the Blu for. Go ahead and scratch it up because I'm never going to watch it anyways. |

I don't remember what I said last time I posted to this thread but,...
These days when someone asks to borrow a movie I offer them my vudu password instead. They can watch stuff and it doesn't get damaged or lost and they don't have to return it. I don't otherwise give a damn about vudu since its all stuff I have on blu ray. |

I basically have one or two friends who I trust with my movies because I know they are as careful/anal about them as I am, and will treat them with care.
For anyone else (family, other friends), I'll maybe lend them the DVD copy out of a combo pack, but not the blu. And I put it in a generic case. ![]() |

Yes, although people generally only want the mainstreamy stuff that would be easily and cheaply replaceable anyways (other than Antichrist which is out now, and better come back in immaculate shape)
If someone did want to borrow my Twilight Times or Steelbooks or Disneys, etc. they'd get a short speech on how any sort of mistreatment would result in me mistreating their face ![]() |

I live with my sis and my nieces asks me if they can borrow movies often so I let them. Other than that there hasn't been family or friends outside our home that asks me if they can borrow movies. Sometimes I feel I'm the only bluray collector amongst my friends ha.
My wife let a friend borrow her Hunger Gamers trilogy book set, and the friends kid supposedly effed it up. The slipcover was messed up with the corners ripped. ![]() I think now if someone wants to borrow and take a movie home, I'll take it out the slipcover and official case and put it in an extra empty DVD case. |
