I have a friend at work and he has a PS3 so he dose not own any blus but for the past month I've been let him borrow some of my blus. He always returns my blus in good condition because I tell him to take good care of them and do not let his little girl grab them or scratch them

I will loan my standard DVDs out to a select group of people. My friends and family that I KNOW will take good care of the disc (most of the friends I have are people I've worked with at FYE, and they're all just as anal as I am about scratched discs).

I'd be willing to loan out Blu-Rays to the same people, but with the exception of my dad (whom does have my copy of WALL·E, actually), none of them have Blu-Ray players.

Yeah, you feel compeled to lend it to them. None of my freinds have gone Blu yet but family member that live in the area are always bothering me about it. I just say, "Mabye", and then I try to change the subject.

To answer the OP's question your not alone, I hate lending my stuff as I know it will be ruined somehow, I just flat out say "Over my dead body" to anyone who asks if they can borrow something.

Literally... every time that I've ever lent someone a dvd, it's either been broken, scratched, or never returned.

A friend finally got a BD drive for his HTPC a few months ago.
I sent him 4 of my Blu-ray Discs. No biggie!
He is a friend.
He can keep them as far as I am concerned.
That's what friends do.

I have another friend, he just sent me a *brand new* Linksys router with DD-WRT firmware on it.
WRT54G V8
No real reason, he said because I have helped him with computer issues his and other people's he was working on.

Cool, huh?

Here's a kicker - I have never actually met these guys before.
Friends from online sites - years gone by. TechTV...

I'm in Cali, friend I sent the discs to is in NC... friend that sent me the router, NY.

A single Blu-ray disc? And it was just "borrowed"? Like, you're going to get it back?
Don't trip dude!
If he is any kind of friend, he'll replace it if it gets damaged.

I would prefer not to lend out my Blu's, but I guess it would really depend on who was asking. Luckily, it's not been an issue so far as none of my friends have players yet.

Lending out your movies, you're just asking for trouble. When it takes weeks for friends to return something that can be watched overnight, the movie usually comes back in a worse state than when it left. Scratches, scuff marks, food stains. Ask them why, and they just shrug and say what's the big deal...

It took me till just now to let my friend borrow Live Free or Die Hard. I have had a PS3 since launch.

I'm very skeptical about lending out my Blu's.

Lol I have two sisters who love to collect dvds, and being their little brother I never bought any because I could borrow and burn theirs. Seriously between the two of them they have literally thousands of DVDs. Now I have Blu-ray and their mad 'cause they can't borrow them. However, I can see years from now when I have hundreds of Blu-rays and they get a Blu-ray player I'll be the one lending out the movies Oh how the tables will turn lol.

I used to let people borrow my games and movies and then it took forever for me to get some back, and some I never got back, so nowadays I just say no, either watch it here or go to blockbuster or best buy.

Jesus would just shoot you with his laser beams and then take them. Then he would visit you in the hospital and forgive your greediness.

i have learn my lesson on SD dvd with my amimatrix, came back broken. I WIL NOT LET anyone borrow my blus. call me greddy but those things cost a pretty nickel and don't want anyone elses fingerprints on them. if they want to borrow blus, blockbuster and netflix has a good system in place.

Sorry to say "No!" to my friend. I experienced my DVD borrowed to them returned in a lot of scratches.

The problem I find with lending a movie is that you never get it back how you originally lend it.When you get it back its always in worst condition than when you first gave it to them.
