From what I have seen at CES and in private meetings Samsung's MicroLED TVs do deliver a moderately better picture than other brands and models of MiniLED TV.
We'll just be showing Samsung's MS1C MicroLED at our July 26, 2025 TV Shootout®, but it will not be competing in the event. Here's the lates sale prices: 114″ $149,999, 101″ $129,999, 89″$109,999. Includes White Glove Nationwide Delivery 1yr interest free financing or take 2% discount w/credit card payment Last edited by Robert Zohn; 07-07-2025 at 01:19 PM. |

The manufacturing technique advancements required for high-yield mass-production of microLED have been coming along quite nicely, in the last year and this one, and things are almost to the point where microLED could toddle into the ring and trade punches with OLED, in the mass-market fight for TV supremacy. It could be as early as 2027, when all the pieces for affordable consumer microLED TVs are lined up and ready.

Without more production lines, that won't happen and OLED has far too much of a lead in that and it also has perfected production techniques. Gotta get the production techniques for microLED sorted out first, then you adapt existing production lines of microLED panels and build new lines for those techniques, then you spend a year or so getting the new and existing lines in order with the production techniques and making them give good yields, and then the lines become "profitable", when high-yield and mass-production align. Minimum, a year is typically needed for any line to "get good" and attain high-yield rates.

Ok, I get the reference display point you're making. However, why do I get the feeling that if this comparisons would have been extremely favorable for Sony, no one make the argument for the need for a reference monitor.
