They unofficially revealed - as in did not announce or publicize - a new microLED design using RGB that they hope to bring to the luxury TV market segment that they currently cater to and they plan to employ it in the smaller sized TV segment of the luxury TV market. Other companies have said, "Hey, here's a consumer-friendly and large-sized microLED TV that we're gonna sell to you for $7000!" and there's a bunch of custom installers also offering affordable TV-sized microLED solutions now. The only microLED stuff Samsung showed off at CES were two concept devices, a Smart beauty mirror using a microLED display and a transparent microLED screen design that could be put towards commercial use and large digital signage.

I dug up some more info and found that Samsung made an "invite-only" presentation of an engineering prototype at their CES-adjacent presentation event, before the show's first day, which is why there was no announcement or press release tied to any of it. While this TV - and it's new design - is presented as microLED, it's actually just a modification of their miniLED design, except with the backlight being microLED and not miniLED, so it is NOT a true microLED TV design like their current - and very expensive - microLED offerings are. Short answer, it's a cost-cutting measure that Samsung might employ in future TVs, to recapture or reduce the market loss they face from competitive units coming from Hisense, TCL, Sony, and whomever else is wielding a pipe in their direction. At this time, it's just something they want in their pocket for possible future use and there is no actual release planned, until it's needed and the manufacturing is perfected.
