Default Amazon's "The Boys"

I did a search and was surprised there wasn't a thread for this so if I missed it, sorry I did look.

This looks awesome if they can at least get close to the levels of the comic.

https://nerdist.com/everything-you-n...bout-the-boys/

With Karl Urban in the lead, and a just signed Elisabeth Shue I'm in. The rest of the cast looks great too.

Seth Rogen already ruined Preacher, so I have no interest in seeing him ruin another Garth Ennis book

Eh, I really didn't care for Preacher as a comic or a show so doesn't bother me. I'm more interested in this material. Eric Kripke is writing and running it as Executive Producer and I pretty much love everything he does so have some faith. I don't think Rogen will have that much creative input. I think the only things that can stop this from being decent is if they don't go R enough or skimp on budget. So far they have nailed the cast so that's a good sign anyway.

At the movie theater right now. They had an ad for this during those ads that run between screenings. Very misleading. Made it look like a lighthearted PG superhero show. Didn’t even show Karl Urban or his side of the plot.

Eh, they have to clean it up for the general audience. I’m not sure what movie you were seeing, but it was most likely something children might watch?

The ads at kids movies are usually almost always kid focused (cartoons, kids video games, etc.); Ads for stuff like this are usually only before PG-13 or R movies.

Seth Rogen mentioned at SDCC that they are already half done shooting season 2. They showed a few clips, and it looks really cool. Not for kids either.

Yay so The Boys is finally live, I nearly pissed myself with joy when I randomly saw the trailer a couple of weeks ago. Completely didn't know they were turning this into a series.

I hope they show the Homelander baby scene.

I hope IMDB doesnt **** up this also. Crap IMDB ratings. Someone should do something about their credibility sooner than later.

I just finished watching the 1st episode...absolutely amazing show...even after just 1 episode I think this might be my favorite Amazon Original series...the cast is excellent, the audio is reference quality (every action scene has really powerful audio)...the only negative is that it's not in Dolby Vision...it uses standard HDR (probably HDR10+ for those displays that support it)...HDR looks good but it doesn't have that pop...almost every episode is 60+ minutes (there are 2 episodes at 56 minutes and one is 54)

the show is a true R rated superhero show, I actually thinks it's closer to an NC-17 rating...a lot of nudity and raw scenes...there's one scene in Episode 1 which sums up this show perfectly...the new female superhero recruit goes to meet up with the rest of the heroes at their home base...The Deep is there by himself...the female goes to say how excited she is to join the group and how she had a crush on The Deep when she was younger...The Deep immediately takes off his clothes and starts touching himself in front of her...

I like what I saw so far and am looking forward to season 2 but, they actually toned the show down a lot compared to the comic books. The scene you are talking about is so much worse in the comics.

[Show spoiler]It’s actually the Homelander in this scene and he is joined by Black Noir and A-Train and she has to perform oral on all of them.
