![]() I get that mag in the mail at our summer place so, no access for me yet. What I was wondering was whether you read just a 3 or 4 sentence blurb on the topic-- or if they actually interviewed Spinotti as to how he technically made (utilization of new Prima lenses with the film cam and oldie but goodie lenses with the Genesis) the cameras shoot imagery as similar as possible…. so that there would be a seamless transition to the viewing public on the big screen. P.S. They also captured a few daylight scenes with the Genesis. ![]() |

What is the first motion picture (feature length) to have been shot in 4K and to have been posted entirely in 4K (meaning every single stinkin frame!). It actually screened earlier this month in L.A. on one of Sony’s 4K projectors. P.S. Maybe I shouldn’t have used the word “trivia” above because this actually indicates that slowly (very slowly) but surely the cost of storage is continuing to drop. |

I thought for sure that swipe at Bill Hunt was posted on some secret thread or member’s only thread on that forum. The man has no shame. |

They still seem clueless as to the source used for that particular Blu-ray movie despite the fact of several respected industry insiders taking their time to set the record straight. I wouldn’t expect the same input to occur in the future. |

Savage,
Perhaps I wasn’t being clear. I was referring to a feature length motion picture captured with a 4K digital camera (in this case the Dalsa Origin). I’m sure you’re aware that LoA was captured with a Panavision 65mm film cam. Actually, last I heard one of these was floating around the internet for sale by a camera collector. So,if you’ve got a spare 50 or 60K lying around you can pick yourself up a piece of camera memorabilia. |

Not exactly the same however because I think that the sequences which are most evident as being *different* to critical observers were those that were captured with 16mm film cameras. Also, the funny thing about Deception is that the young dude (the Director) wanted a film camera for the entire production and the old timer (DP) desired to go digital for the whole show. They each compromised. ![]() |

Penton (or any other insider who might read this),
Here is an honest question: Do the studios honestly expect bluray to be as successful as DVD was? To me that is the equivalent of expecting a new talented basketball player to be as successful as Michael Jordan or a new soccer player to be as successful as David Beckham or Ronaldo? Or they just expect bluray to be profitable and have success on its own and not being judged as DVD part 2. Yes, Im aware that I posted this in other insider threads. Anyone can feel free to comment. |

Please be informed that the priorities of a fellow anonymous Insider
https://forum.blu-ray.com/showpost.p...&postcount=519 have shifted more in favor of his principle work obligations. I would not expect regular appearances by him in the future to simply answer members questions. I feel certain however that when lack of appropriate information is significantly harming the Blu-ray format he will gladly jump back in to contribute in his area of expertise. Please be understanding as his executive status is at least a level above Corporate V.P. and his calendar is packed. |
