I would like to give a tip of the hat to our Blu-ray movie reviewers (as well as the attached user reviews).
https://www.blu-ray.com/movies/revie...how=newreviews

I normally don’t read movie reviews (for purely personal reasons).
However, I clicked on a couple of the titles just to see how astute our reviewers are [I’ve had cabin fever the past couple days as temps in SoCal have flirted with the 100 degree mark, which even my coyotes find ugly] and I was truly impressed with the quality of the reviews.
Is there any list of all our movie reviewers, i.e. all the people’s names who do this fine service ?

I remember there sometimes seemed to be a disproportionately high number of Irish posters in the HD section (that I was eventually banned from for stating the, to me, obvious opinion that Blu-ray was going to win the "format war") of a UK forum too.

The pubs re-opened 15 minutes ago.
Horseflesh,
I just couldn’t resist once I typed the post above and thought about two words……….

Since I own the film, own the soundtrack, as well as being an off/on Country music fan, I have no problem picking out the song as "The Devil Went Down To Georgia" by the The Charlie Daniels Band. I've often said (joking) regarding the song that the devil never went down to Georgia, he's had a Summer home down here since the beginning! But then, look who I am talking to! Didn't you say you grew up some in Atlanta?

In fact, the devil probably prefers it now, because not only have temperatures been hotter (growing up, we generally had maybe one or two days over 100 a year, but last year, we had 7-10 days at least), and the drought makes it seem hotter (one good thing about the grass turning brown and dying, you don't have to buy gas to mow the lawn... which is a nice thing when you live on 20 acres)...

Yeah, I would have a hard time understanding "Coyote Ugly" in Russian as I can only speak about three words of it...

~Alan<~~~~~~~~Who wasn't aware that Bridget Moynahan was in CU until he got the Blu-ray several months back...

Out of curiosity, are you referring to their reviews on the films, the quality of the release, or both?

Though I don't always agree with the assessments on the films, I do find the reviewers on this site to have a VERY good track record as far as PQ/AQ reviews go!

Both!........of the admittedly limited number of reviews I’ve read.
The reviewers nailed it perfectly.

A movie that I’m looking forward to seeing on the big screen this coming fall is probably one that you’ve never heard of.
Namely……Righteous Kill.

Why?
I’ve been waiting awhile for Robert DeNiro and Al Pacino to work together again!
I just hope the screenplay is worthy of these two acting legends.

Righteous Kill should be good ,but will never beat both of them in Heat (even though they only had like 4 minutes in the same scene together!)

Speaking of Heat, Penton has the new transfer started? (I think it was being overlooked by Mann himself?)

Wow,
Heat also had a wealth of supporting talent. I have no information on that title at this time but, just remember (or a heads-up to those that have never seen the film), it is a stylistic movie and many of the backgrounds are intentionally, out of focus as Spinotti if I recall correctly, used anamorphic zooms.
The appearance is almost the exact opposite of Speed Racer in which the foreground as well as the backgrounds are in perfect focus (also not natural but stylistic).

P.S.
btw, Spinotti is also the DP that originally came up with the idea of the wedding scene for the StEM material……………………
