Of course, there's also a few claiming DNR has been used since some shots seem soft.

I kid you not. But, hey, it's AVS you know.
Some people REALLY need to get a life. RAH already confirmed that zero DNR was appliec to the restoration process.

I've taken delivery of my copy of The Coppola Restoration today and am delighted to hear it's being so well received.

I have to say wrt. the CIH / CIW subtitle discussion that it seems like it would be profoundly easy for companies to add multiple subtitle tracks to accommodate either setup. They'd take up an absolutely trivial amount of space & bandwidth, and make everyone happy in one fell swoop.

Any idea why they don't just author discs that way so we can drop this discussion and get back to arguing about DNR again?

Geez, I was being facetious with the color tone thing, I figured though that DNR accusations with this title (as well as any other future title) are inevitable over there – so with that part of my post I was indeed being intentionally prophetic.
I didn’t realize that somebody had actually started ripping on the color of the Godfather Blu-ray stuff.
First they don’t give F.F.C. a break on Bram Stoker’s Dracula (and his original intentions – despite verification from a caretaker for the film) and now they’re attacking da Godfather?
For cripes sakes, the thing hasn’t even streeted yet.

Here’s an online test to see how good you think you are at colors (brought to you by http://www.xrite.com/top_services.aspx)
Take it only if your job requires you to use your eyes all day long at work, and if so, start the test near the end of your typical work day and see how you compare to others.

Default The low on extra's movies last week......

Trust me, the batch of film only discs released last week were worth every penny to me, why? They had no or little Java, and on my Panny BD30's you could stop play and SHUT OFF the player, return later and it REMEMBERED where you were and restarted there, like the old DVD players would do. I hardly ever watch the extras, or the other stuff. I do like the film restarting where you left off. I have not tried this on my S300 so don't know if it's the discs or players, but this Mikey likes it. Thanks.

Penton,

I scored a "0." So I guess I'm pretty good at colors, eh?

I scored 8. I don't know if that's an OK score, lame, or what.

I got a zero also, but I may be a bit of a cheater since my first real job was as a color printer in a commercial photo lab. That has unfortunately led me to my current job of large format trade show work....

RAH
Personally, I would not have posted that ^ as too many lurkers from other boards read this thread.
I would have let all the forensic screenshot scientists hang themselves with accusations of DNR affecting these titles and then after a few weeks …………….shoot them all down with the facts.

You’re too kind.
I would have enjoyed hearing them make fools of themselves for a few weeks without having the benefit of this knowledge.

That’s good, it’s like a golf score……..the lower the better.
Obviously none of you color gurus were on Viagra while taking da test.
So, I assume everyone did the test at work rather than at home?

Next challenge will be how to adjust the color controls (using a vectorscope and a monitor) so that the whites and blacks are exactly centered in the x/y vector display.

Seems easier to just cut to the chase, and also before the web begins to "print the legend."

With all these uber-low scores going around, I'll just say that I scored better than average for my age range
(and we use X-Rite densitometers in work, LOL)

Speaking of low scores and golf......looks like you Yanks are whupping our European asses. For now........

Leaving them both out was crazy, especially Clarke who was in great form.
I wouldn't rule out Europe being behind again going into Sunday and winning it (or drawing which would retain the Cup).
I agree that USA will be better without Woods.

The overwhelming majority of people who have been critical there and elsewhere, over 98% I would argue, have never been in a restoration facility of any sort, nor have been involved in any restoration projects, nor have the needed qualifications to determine whether or not DNR (or, following other insider threads in this subforum) or, audio adjustments, have been made.
