So, pendantic maybe, but they re-rendered some scenes for Imax CGI res, but nothing was "shot" with an Imax camera...
That’s fine as all input is welcomed. Although, I question your contention that nothing was “shot with an IMAX camera” as I know that Michael Bay rented 3 IMAX cameras for the production. It would appear if indeed they weren’t utilized and just sat in his garage, then that was a total waste of money. I find that difficult to believe.

I just don’t have time to read your link as to its accuracy as I’m trying to get out of the office at a decent hour today.

Meanwhile, give me a moment and I’ll find a link for you to an interview I’m aware of regarding the sound.

Is that really a problem? I'm not sure I own a single disc with 16 subtitle languages on it!

Now that, I would definitely give you a pass for. However, being as the difference between the two tracks would amount to a consistent measure of vertical shift and an additional menu option, it's hard for me to imagine where the expense would come in.

Thanks for addressing my question, anyway.

You mean the ILM folks who are (or were) the sister company to those paragons of presentation-quality envelope-pushing, THX?

First complaint about IMAX-production workload outta that bunch gets the stink-eye from me.

Yeah, I had read (can't find it) that the rumours of him renting the camera were false...

While I =don't= think that it's beyong the pale for Senior Bay to engage in a "total waste of money", I certainly am likely wrong, and that if they had the cameras, they at the least used them for ILM's plates. Sorry to mislead.

Still haven't seen it, I -hated- the first one ("Oops, my bad...") with its pathetic attempt at "story" and "character" and a smeary mess of closeup shots of motion blur.

Despite that this is one of the more critically pilloried films in recent memory, I'm hoping that this is far more in line with man, many more gratuitous "robots kicking the crap out of each other" scenes, mixed with the occasional wide, establishing shots (!) that I wanted from the first.

Sorry if I mentioned it before, but for those that share my hatred of Pearl Harbour you still owe it to yourselves to check out the making of doc on the special edition DVD (Sadly, these -excellent- extras were dropped from the BD release).

The handicam shots of the epic battle, with vintage planes, explosions, and an army of men, women, and cameras is such a rediculous improvement on the final product that it's mindboggling. Seeing the 12 camera setup from the vantage point of an onlooker makes you stand in awe of this scale of production, and the visual impact of just standing back and watching pales those idiotic smash zooms to Cuba Gooding, the cloying and histrorically dubious story line, and general nonsense that Bay's blunder provides.

Seems to do some big films, don't he... I only knew him for LOTR and his oscar, he's all over PJ's making of stuff...

Oh, and back to BD for a minute, for those that don't have the Pixar shorts, you should really pick it up if only for "Lifted". One of the finest metaphors to what you want to do in frustration at any mixing board, to be sure.

Yeah... it's hard to use the word "paragon" on the internet in 2009 without looking sarcastic.

Seems to me, that a few years back, they may not have been taking plastic but, they do now (except for Discover). The eatery is actually just a few turns of the crank from one of the premier new bike shops in the O.C......."Bannning's".
Right part of town, different joint though. I can't for the life of me remember the name.

We have big multi-national plans with the globalization of Blu-ray.

Rumor has it, that we’re even trying to get Blu-ray established with the indigenous tribes of the Amazon and New Guinea.

Or would you like to hear it in Chabacano, as that's easier for us, since it's closer to Spanish.

Let me know what happens (i.e. tell me if there is any difference in how long accurate proprietary information typically lasts in *science* before ‘evaporating’ by deletion ) as I’m off to the land of Loonies and dem bears.
