Amazon.co.uk had Season Two up for pre-order along with the DVD, but once it got closer to release time, the Blu-ray page changed to a notify when announced page, and the DVD was the only version released. Though not announced yet, Amazon.com has the DVD version up for pre-order, but no Blu-ray release. ![]() ![]() ~Alan |

Not Jeff, but Paramount has ALWAYS put a premium on their "Trek" series. I'm quite frankly amazed at how "cheap" the TOS sets are considering I bought S1 for around HALF the price I paid for a single season of "Enterprise" on DVD.

Yup, plus TOS S1 has about 30% MORE episodes to it than your average season (28 or 29, forget which), considering also they run 8 minutes on average LONGER than shows today as well, so you're really getting an additional dozen or so episodes by runtime as compared to your standard 22 episode set.
Make a little more sense? ![]() And yes, Paramount has always charged out the nose for Trek. Notice though it's reguarly going for 50% off. |

However, since you’ve expressed dissatisfaction over both Braveheart and Gladiator, might I suggest The Girl Next Door, which also streeted this week. ![]() If you’re a picture quality analyst, once you get over the motion blur at the beginning of the film, the scattered close-ups exhibiting less than optimal focus and some variations in the grain from scene to scene (all of which can be attributed to the principal photography and the excellence of the HD mastering and high bit-rate Fox encode), IMHO, there are some fabulous comedic episodes during the movie which provide giggles galore. ![]() One of my faves is when “Kelly” gives a shout out to “Mr. Peterson” and shortly thereafter “Matty” and “Mr. Peterson” are discussing the topic of Matty’s scholarship speech while being *distracted* by the performers. ….And “Mule” going bonkers after he realizes he was made a fool of by highschool kids. ![]() And the lead-up to Mathew's speech about ‘moral fiber’ at the hotel with him and all the attendees, etc. Plus, some moving moments too, like with Mathew’s speech about ‘moral fiber’. ![]() That my friend is indeed what it’s all about (happily married for longer ![]() ![]() I think The Girl Next Door is great weekend fare and if you can’t *get into it* after several minutes, then just have a drink or two and you’ll be rolling with it in no time. ![]() |

![]() http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GVGmC...eature=related But, you took it the wrong way, as there is no “bully” in bully pulpit……. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bully_pulpit I was just enlightening you to the fact that there are two parties involved in the *situation*. B.T.W., see my recommendation to shark for a second weekend flick as above. ![]() |

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MWMzeSI6njQ The upside is…. catch her while you can, as recent research shows that watching Elisha on Blu-ray would be definitely less taxing on men’s brains than talking to her in real life……….. http://www.telegraph.co.uk/health/he...tty-women.html But to answer your question directly……. Yes, I would probably still recommend it because I very much liked the script, esp. with lines like “God damn, Peterson, haven't seen your black ass in ages” (Peterson being a 50-ish white guy demonstrating the quintessential perplexed look on his face). ![]() Just for all the stunned and surprised looks exhibited by a lot of actors (young and old) as they visually respond to certain situations, is at least worth a rental, I think. And the soundtrack includes some fabulous songs! Be forewarned though, as this recommendation was to sharkshark, someone who implied that he is not the type that is only capable of appreciating Blu-ray movies completely shot in perfect focus with unfiltered Zeiss Master Primes or Ultra Primes lenses. In other words, if you’re only capable of Blu-ray resolution boners, this title aint for you. ![]() Anyway, I’m out the door and as Labor Day signifies the ‘unofficial’ end to summer, I leave you all with this………. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=M80mw...eature=related – esp. if the past season was cruel on your wallets with all those Blu-ray movie purchases. ![]() It’s off to the beach for me. ![]() Last edited by Penton-Man; 09-05-2009 at 04:40 PM. |

I would recommend then, given that there's a lot of people wanting Sony TV properties on Blu, that the hopeful eventual releases contain rebates of some kind that don't require mutilating the Blu-ray. Cutting out tabs or UPCs is unacceptible to most collectors. A printed coupon would do the same job
