Penton, by the way, that's from a show called "Star Trek: The Next Generation". The guy on the left is now a lounge singer.

Congrats - a draw is actually quite an accomplishment.
That’s quite an understatement given the time of possession and the successful passing percentage our Yanks had compared to the Brits.
b.t.w., excuse the recent absence. World Cup fever and all. Starting with the concert - Alicia…

and then my girl Shakira…

I took away a couple things the morning after the match. Firstly, it’s finally great to see some significant World Cup enthusiasm in mainstream U.S. (predominated by football, baseball, basketball consciousness), as evidenced by my anecdotal observations from over-hearing people in a local coffee shop talking about soccer and the USA/England match… to hearing people passionately discuss the same topic of the day while seated at tables next to us during dinner at a local restaurant last evening, who obviously knew little about international soccer, much less, about a guy named Howard. The enthusiasm precipitated by this Yank/Brit challenge on the World stage should inspire countless school kids in the U.S. to either take up the game or continue playing it as long as possible with renewed motivation.

As far as the tournament goes and true grit when gifts from God expire, I’m waiting to see how the USA does when the real pressure is on. Namely, when they are placed in the same position as England was yesterday, i.e. when they play Algeria and Slovenia, and are expected to win, how will they perform?

I must say, that the most admirable thing I saw as a longtime soccer fan and American was…unlike in prior years, our National team didn’t absolutely fold after Gerrard’s early goal. They kept fighting

You'd better get 'involved'!

They say that the Barcelona fans present at the World Cup are trying to woo Cesc Fabregas away from the Arsenal.

You're in California, that's not "real America". Tell me how it's playing in the "flyover" states

kidding aside, the German onslaught against Oz was frightening. I have them doing well enough in the tourny, but given that they've got 20 year olds playing so damn well bodes frightening for their competitors in the future.

Let's see how post-Balack Germany fares....
I was throwing out an "almost" to counter aygie's "almost". Germany was very impressive today. The speed and power of youth, indeed.

Sir, I’ll have you know that California is as “real” American as baseball, hotdogs, apple pie and gummy bear implants
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=AbwmyrgpuUs

This aint the 1970’s that we're living in now…

So there !

When I saw the German pre-game lineup, I said to my friends in Newport Beach (within shouting distance of Jürgen’s place)...
“Yet another Müller.
If that young player’s name portends the future of German football, we’s (the whole world) is in trouble.”

That were impressive but Australia was also very weak. I would rather wait to see how they fare against Serbia and Ghana, those teams are stronger.

Klinsmann might have thought that he is the only one who is interested in soccer in Newport Beach, so maybe he was happy to overhear your comment

Get that guy a 3D set!...as long as he's not working on my bike at the same time.

From our friend Scott Hettrick (who lists Blu-ray.com in his Blogroll on the bottom right side of the page)…

Penton,

From the same site regarding "Toy Story 3" in 3D: http://hollywoodinhidef.com/2010/06/...-in-subtle-3d/

The writer wasn't impressed and neither were some people in the crowd with the 3D experience.

Penton, I always thought you were in the entertainment side of things at Sony, now I see that you're actually in the phone division.
