Hmm.

But of course, Raymond, one could also nitpick or more constructively criticize in a more scientifically relevant sense (than you did with Steve Jobs) some of the findings in your past ‘3D TV Display Technology Shoot-Out’ from last year.

Because, I, for one, as have others, found that paper to be more imperfect than Job’s assertions about the quality of the iPhone 4. And yes, I, too, have at least one doctorate degree after my name.

Let me guess, you probably shun the use of wiki since the "masses" use it.

I shun arguing with people who resort to personal attacks because they can't stand the fact that somebody dares to disagree with a company or a product they favor.

There's a reason some refer to an iCult: the followers have a religious fervor about attacking those who don't subscribe to their worldview and can't engage in debate without resorting to name calling.

Peter are you implying that I'm part of this "iCult", as you put it?
Now think about what's been said, before you answer....as it will go a long way to establishing what(if any) comprehension skills you may possess.

Also as to your "BD catalog releases are down"....yeah Indy was just announced today, I'm sure that's not a big deal(in your world)

Edit: Actually I know you don't like the Indy movies, because so many people do....I guess we're all part of an "iNdyCult".

Oh, come on, Peter. You dropped a giant image of a dog crapping the Apple logo into a thread that wasn't talking about Apple and you're going claim the discussion highroad?

Furthermore, I probably shouldn't speak for Rick, but I'd term his labeling you a "concern troll" an impersonal attack. I think he'd apply that label to anyone making posts similar to yours, without discrimination.

In addition to being a Concern Troll, Peter strikes me as the type of person that likes to "change the argument around" to help his cause.
I'm still waiting on all the verifiable numbers he was supposed to provide me that outlines blu-ray's decline. Guess he's still hard at work!

If you guys don’t slow it down a bit, you’re going to break this server and Iceman will get mad at me. Instead of hundreds of views/day, with the current debate, this thread has been clocking in at thousand(s)/day.

Don’t you guys have ANY respect for electronics?

On the other hand, I don’t much care about electronics either as they seem rather impersonal.

Rick and Anthony,

The frog (a.k.a. Jim Taylor – http://dvddemystified.com/jim/jhtaylor.htm ) spoke at the Tech Retreat about UltraViolet. The evil twin in me was actually thinking about you two fellows while he was giving DECE’s UltraViolet status report.

If only you two guys had been there......

I would be a bad choice, as I've never used UV or a digital download for that matter. I think when I did have streaming on my Netflix account(before the split), I only streamed 2 movies and a few shows of BSG. I do feel sorry for all the folks that are having problems with it though!

Pretty certain calling someone a troll is an insult doc! In my opinion.

Oh yes...well it is 2012, so doomsday scenarios can/will run rampant!

Which reminds me, I missed this week's episode of Doomsday Preppers!

Strange logic. Insult is a insult regardless of whether it is true or not.

It's actually referred to as sound logic. If a public speaker goes before a crowd spewing lies, he will be branded a liar...not an insult, but a fact.
If message board guy, keeps talking about events that can't even be calculated at this time resulting in some dramatic change, he is a Concern Troll...again not an insult, but a fact.
Sorry I don't make the rules, I just enforce them.

My guess (opinion) would be that you would not mouth off your opinion of someone or their actions outside of a forum. That being the case, would that not make you a keyboard warrior? Just my opinion.

How many times are you guys gonna make the same irrational arguments about Apple's success? It's always about fads, herd mentality, cults, etc. It's a completely false premise because it assumes the bulk of the customers aren't really satisfied w/ the product. It's like you think some salesman wearing a plaid sports jacket is telling you "she's a real beaut-a little old lady only drove it back n forth to the store". Sure, that definitely does exist. However, you simply can't get that many satisfied customers, with that many products, over that many years w/ just chrome-plated crap. You can have SOME measure of success for SOME amount of time, but not the kind of huge impact they've had on the world. You've simply allowed your subjectivity/bias(due to them killing physical media or whatever) to overtake your judgement. Of course, you add another false premise by assuming because you prefer the "other" product, it's due to your ability to see through the smoke n mirrors(and never due to your being brainwashed by that particular company's popularity). Fine, you don't like Apple. 95% of my life I couldn't have cared less about Apple(I thought it was just a fad as well), but a friend finally convinced me to try it out. I was shocked at how much I liked using the product that they created. I used to hate my previous computers. I've never looked back. Don't make the illogical assumption that because I like something you hate, it's only because I'm seduced by it's popularity. That'll only go so far for a large company(and certainly not as far as Apple has gone). Btw Alan, your signature is hysterical.
