United Kingdom Breakdown 4K UHD (Kurt Russell, J.T. Walsh, October 2024 UK)

Excellent film in every way.

Already have the Imprint release so hopefully this UK release gets everything on that and the extra stuff on the US Blu-ray.

The Blu Ray looked PHENOMENAL. Interested to see how much better this can possibly look.

And boom goes the dynamite. Yes, it's Paramount, but this movie in 4K has to be a day one purchase regardless.

J.T. Walsh is my jam.

We should be pretty safe, as the blu-ray was from a 4k scan supplied from Paramount.

Will definitely be upgrading this one.

HMV have it now for the 20% off junkies https://hmv.com/store/film-tv/4k-ult...-ray/breakdown

Rarewaves: https://www.rarewaves.com/products/5...7386-breakdown

We have an EAN/UPC 5056453207386 so we're not imaginging the release.

I think it'll be good news for North America too as that's US style artwork.

Meaning no ratings logos? I thought they were required?

Not the best of its genre ("Spoorloos" aka Vanishing is a better psychological kidnapping movie and Hitcher a better action paced road thriller), but definitely enjoyable for its performances, Hitchcockian filmmaking and high adrenaline finale.

Will be getting this on 4K for sure.

It's funny, I don't think I've ever re-watched Vanishing since my initial viewing (probably VHS). I felt like that movie was very heavily dependent on the big reveal--which I loved, and wouldn't really reward multiple viewings. (I never saw the American remake).

I think Breakdown is one of the best of the genre. Rewatched it plenty times, so the 4K should be a no brainer, but I am going to hold fire and see just how much of an upgrade it is on the already excellent Blu Ray.

For anyone that doesn't own Breakdown on disc, you won't find many better Thrillers. You are in for a treat.

He's my jam, my marmalade, my preserve, my curd. Incredible actor, and I'm SO fookin pleased it's getting a stand-alone release. I can moan about the compression etc when it finally hits my doormat, until then this is a day for celebration.

It never had a Paramount Blu-ray release before the PP disc, so I don't know what the "upgraded" thing is supposed to be a dig at. But as I wasn't stupi...er, eager enough to buy the PP or the Imprint then I'm all over this. Eeeeeek!!
