I've never been particularly into Zombie stuff and am extremely tired of the recent zombie trends. So I haven't watched even a few minutes of The Walking Dead. I've also heard its a very average show, with above average cinematography.

Don't forget about the "state-of-the-art zombie effects that make Tom Savini cry at night".

extremely overrated show but still pretty good. the 1st episode was amazing and every other one wasnt up to par with it IMO. however i went into it with little expectations and i do like the show but IMO it's no where the par of Breaking or even Dexter for that matter.

Wow, tonight was incredible!

Of all the episodes that aired so far, I am assuming this his the one Cranston will submit for "Best Actor" obviously we have plenty more episodes to come that could take the spot, but tonight is thecurrent winner. wow

Boy was Skylar a grade A ***** tonight. She even called herself a *****. Is the show going meta by referencing BrBa fans' hate for Skylar?

Loved
[Show spoiler]Walter buying that Coke with that dollar bill. LOL

Also, does anyone else think that in the end, Gus might be taken out by the cartel, leaving Walt to assume leadership? I just don't see this war remaining cold for long and it seems like at least from a story perspective, both Walt/Jessie are being primed to be the next Gus/Mike.

It could be interesting to see how Walt makes the transition to being the head honcho while dealing with the cartel and at the same time continuing to evade his brother-in-law/DEA. He certainly never got the opportunity to be "the guy" at his original company or the car wash, but is obviously making inroads to delegating, as witnessed by paying the ladies for cleaning the equipment in this episode.

One way or the other, I'm really interested to see where they take these characters.

You said it. I was wondering how the poster was making the connection between a few of us (me included) not being blown away (yet) by the new season of BB and being on the Walking Dead bandwagon. I don't get it.

I don't understand the Breaking Bad and The Walking Dead connection either because I'm pretty sure not one person mentioned TWD. Who knows.

Anyways, I'm not sure what Gus and Mike are doing with Jesse and Walt. I figured Mike was taking Jesse along with him to keep him from doing drugs, which seems semi true. But when he said something to Gus about him being a hero like he wanted/expected, I'm not sure what to make of that.

as I said earlier, I believe Gus is trying to create a rift between Walt and Jesse, probably hoping it results in some sort of falling out. Ultimately hoping that one or the other decides to end it with violence.

Its also Gus just playing with Walt, not letting him have it easy, since he isn't going to blindly cooperate and just do the job.

Agree completely. That first episode was just amazing and the show never could live up to those expectations. I enjoy the show but it's not in the same level as breaking bad or dexter.

Yeah, i think that's pretty much it and i think Walt started to put it together during his conversation with Jesse outside the lab.
I still don't understand what Walt is trying to do/prove or what his thinking really is. He seems to be relying too much on the idea that Gus views him as irreplaceable. Does he really believe that Gus couldn't find someone else to do a similar job without all the baggage? Also, why are they still cooking the blue meth? I thought Walt and jesse first did that out of necessity because they had stolen that liquid in the big black barrel. Now they have the finest equipment and ingredients to chose from and they're still cooking a product which stands out like a sore thumb and is much more easily recognized and traceable. Walt knows for a fact that the DEA is on the lookout for "the blue" so why not switch it up?

The blue color is the trademark. There's nothing less good about it versus other methods, its just more trouble to do which is why other meth makers don't do it that way. Why do it the hard way when we don't have to? Gus wants the best product, the fact that its immediately recognizable is a big plus. Meth heads know the blue shit is for real. they really don't care how good it is now, as long as its meth to some degree. But if it really is the best, then people really will want it. So that's Gus' thinking on that.

and Gus wants the best. He needs Walt or someone equivalent to get the best, plain and simple.

Walt wants to see gratification for his efforts. He's been working hard and now rakes in the dough. He wants to be able to enjoy it freely and have people acknowledge his progress. He wrinkles at the thought of a scapegoat getting credit for his work. He wants to be kingpin. There are only two things holding him back from going all out: Gus, and the fact that he at least thinks it would create a rift in his family if they found out he's a terrible person, a druglord, a killer. And based on Skylar's reaction to his outburst, looks like its true.

I think he put it together before that. Well the day before technically when he drunkenly told Hank to re-investigate Gale's murder. He definitely knew there would be something in to link Gus to the case and that is what happened when Hank show the picture of Los Pollos.

Walt wasn't thinking about Gus at that moment.

But it may work out in Walt's favor later, if he can somehow keep himself behind the curtain, while Gus gets taken.
