Wow! Another cliffhanger, but at the same time
[Show spoiler]we know Jesse won't succeed in burning the house since it was still untouched from fire in the flash forwards at the beginning of the season and after the break.

While it wasn't "slow" in the first two episodes back, it looks like it's going to pick up fast now

Personally, that was a top 5-7 episode of the series for me. Holy shit, I didn't think they could go any faster, but they floored it even more. Insane!!!!!!!!

I have no idea what is going to happen, but I do think that
[Show spoiler]Jesse is going to end up dead. Honestly, if next week was his last episode, I would not be surprised at all.
What an amazing show!

I wouldn't be surprised too, but I think he'll stick around to the end somehow.

Don't agree with Sam Jackson saying that Walt was working Jessie then, it really seemed sincere.

Maybe he's working us both

I think it was a little of both. He genuinely cares about Jesse, but it would help him out if Jesse was gone.

Agreed.

I love how they played this episode out. The last moment Jesse and Walt had before his epiphany was the hug. Great contrast in their relationship.

I think Walt genuinely cares about Jesse. I don't think he was (I say was for a reason--I don't think he figured Jesse would find out about Brock) concerned about Jesse flipping on him because of Jesse's history with Hank. I think he considered Jesse as sort of an adopted son. He saw Jesse grow from some idiot low-level drug dealer to his right hand man. Walt seemed to really want Jesse to leave. That all back fired though.

C'mon Guys!
Actually,
[Show spoiler]Walt had Saul steal the cigarette so that Jesse would think it was Gus who actually stole it (via Tyrus), leading Jesse to believe that Gus was the person who poisoned Brock. This brought Jesse back over to Walt's side.

So c'mon yourself. Lol

I think Walt cares for Jesse for sure, but it is just hard to show how much he cares when so much other crap is taking place.

Hang on...there are people who think Walt
[Show spoiler]told Jesse to disappear with a new identity because he cares about him?

That's giving him far too much credit at this point.

Exactly.

He
[Show spoiler]killed his girlfriend and poisoned the boy
. He doesn't give two shits about Jesse.

There is no way he doesn't care about Jesse. Just because of things he did in his past does not necessarily reflect this.
[Show spoiler]The death of Jane was early in the series, at that time, he was doing what he thought was right for Jesse. It may have been selfish and a horrible thing to do, but he didn't do it to punish or hurt Jesse even though that is what will ultimately happen.
Walt cares more about his family and himself because he wants them to be safe over Jesse, but he still cares about Jesse and realizes that he needs to do more to protect him. I think he goes back and forth and walks a really thin line, but there is still some sort of emotion and connection Walt values between them.

He did not
[Show spoiler]kill his girlfriend, he let her die, it really is a big difference.
One that even the creators/writers of the show have made sure to awknowledge publicly multiple times.

If WW didn't give a shit about Jesse he would have offed him by now. Like the guy said this season, he hit 10 guys in separate prisons within a 2 minute window. If he wanted Jesse dead, he would be dead by now.

What he wants is Jesse to be taken out of the equation without having to be killed.

Even if Walt does care about Jesse, if it comes down to it between Walt surviving or Jesse surviving, Walt is going to save himself every time.

I'm not denying that at all. Walt has a form of caring for Jesse but it just isn't the typical way a normal person cares for someone lol

But who knows, Walt could save Jesse

I'll post my thoughts in spoilers so I can freely refer to events from the show. This is regarding Walt and Jesse's dynamic...

[Show spoiler]Their relationship has changed dramatically since season one. Yes, there are examples of Walt going to bat for Jesse (perhaps none better then the events of HALF MEASURE). But those moments don't speak for present times. Walt has manipulated Jesse to disturbing levels. He coaxed him into breaking up with a woman he loves, had that same woman's child poisoned in an attempt to turn Jesse against Gus, verbally kicked him down because he needed a partner and insisted that he didn't kill Mike, among other things. That "hug" was another attempt at manipulation. He's absolutely not concerned about Jesse's well being, and therefore he doesn't care about him. This is evident by the fact that it doesn't necessarily make sense for Jesse to "start over". It only makes slightly more sense than it would for Walt since he doesn't have children and a family looking after him. A new identity is an incredibly serious, last resort option. They have as much on Jesse as they have on Walt now, which is practically nothing. Even still, there may be more for him to gain by cutting a deal. The situation is dire, but there are other options to consider.

Walt wants Jesse eliminated. Dead?...I doubt it, but just because you don't want to see someone die doesn't mean you give a shit about them. People who care about you don't lie to you. They don't subject you to shitty situations and remain arrogant and unapologetic after the fact. Just because Walt was there for Jesse before doesn't mean he will be now. Things are different. Just as your closest friends now may not be the same.people from 5 years ago.

Everyone I know is too. He always gets so close, and then something happens. Because of the flash forwards we know he doesn't catch him though, at least not in the next 6 months or so.
