I have the last show of season 3 to watch now this weekend and I am all caught up. Man is it hard to not watch the next show with this series, my wife and I watch 2 in a night and its already late yet still want to watch another.

This show has been amazing and I think season 3 is my fav so far

Well if you've waited this long, you might as well wait for 3. It was the best of the series and since we have to wait until next July for season 4 to start it's going to be a very long wait all together.

Yeah it was announced last month, I believe the article is a few pages back, but here was the announceement:

Breaking Bad will not return for its fourth season until July 2011, and as a result will not be eligible for next year’s Emmy Awards. So if Bryan Cranston repeats for best drama actor this year, he will not get a shot at a shot at a three-peat four-peat (oops, he has already won the last two, so if he wins at the end of the month he will have three-peated).

AMC plans to put up mini-episodes on the Web early next year to bridge the gap. Um…okay, good luck with that.

I’m not sure of the reasoning for the longer-than-normal break, and I’m trying to find out. I’m sure fans won’t like it or think it’s a good idea. One guess is that between picking up a couple of new originals (Walking Dead and now The Killing) there is just the need for some schedule maneuvering.

Another guess, and one that seems more likely to me is that AMC wants to see what happens with Breaking Bad’s ratings if it airs the show during the less competitive summer months instead of up against Sunday broadcast originals. While Breaking Bad hasn’t drawn as many viewers as Mad Men, it has done as well with the ad-centric adults 18-49 ratings.

Perhaps AMC will go for packing a powerful Emmy punch by pairing Mad Men and Breaking Bad together making Sunday nights in the summer both a joy and a pain in the ass for the likes of Alan Sepinwall.

Between this and "Weeds", how about just waiting until Showtime becomes the All-Suburban-Legalization Network?

(We're lucky, at one point they considered cashing in on "L Word" and "Queer as Folk" and becoming the All-Gay Network, but they spun off a separate channel for that.)

1. that would be a helluva trick, considering Breaking Bad is not on Showtime.

2. Somehow I think you're also mistaken on the "becoming the all gay network" as well. And I'm sure you're considering yourself extremely lucky that they decided not to become an all gay network. Then you'd have to watch it with the lights off and shades drawn so nobody knows.

And I have to say, I was hoping they wouldn't go with this photo. I've had friends over who don't watch BrBa looking at the season 1 & 2 Blu-rays asking me if this is some shoot 'em up thing. The cover art is (again) unfavorably chosen IMO.

I love that cover!!! The evolution of the series is well documented on the Bad covers and it's always fun to watch. You go from Walt looking like an idiot without any pants holding a gun like he wouldn't know what to do with it on the first season cover, to still looking lost in his cooking gear in a lawn chair and just as awkward with the gun, to seeing him evolve into this bad ass looking cook, who's started to become a gangster and now has others doing his muscle work for him. Some "shoot em up thing"? if my friends asked me that I would smack them in the mouth and tell them to stop being so ****ing stupid. If guns put them off, there's always Desperate Housewives and the lifetime network.

The Sons of Anarchy cover art is great for instance. On both seasons. Which should tell you I don't have any issues with guns being on there at all, neither do my friends. But this cover is just unimaginative and lazy. The overly dramatic pose they're striking is probably what bothers me most. Call me crazy, but I think it doesn't do the show justice.
Although I do think the season 1 cover isn't bad, I'll give you that.

One more thing regarding SOA, the season 3 poster is amazing as well. They know how to make a kickass show not look stupid. AMC should hire those guys.

I don't particularly like any of the promotional pics tbh. I immediately thought of The Sopranos as well when I saw that photo. It's obviously a ripoff.

This is the worst of the bunch though:


Poorly photoshopped and another "what the hell is it supposed to say" pose. It's beyond me how this gets the ok from AMC. I get that they're on a very tight budget and maybe even have to save on these photo shoots, but on the other hand the Mad Men posters are far better.

Ok, this is kinda getting random now. Anyway, I'm not trying to knock the show or anything, obviously, but I do think that the marketing of it in general is shoddy.

I first saw this a while back on youtube, and I thought it was fanmade. I was shocked when I noticed AMC had this up on their site. I mean seriously, isn't that just ridiculous
