I'm glad this is getting a Blu-ray release. I still haven't watched this show at all but I bought the first 2 seasons when they were cheap last year and have held off on watching them until the third season is released so I can watch all 3 seasons in a row.

Breaking Bad also stars Anna Gunn (TV's "Deadwood"), Dean Norris (Terminator 2: Judgment Day), Betsy Brandt (TV's "Back When We Were Grownups"), and RJ Mitte. Desperate to pay for his cancer treatments and to secure his family's financial security, Walt discovers a new sense of fearlessness. He teams with former student, now drug dealer Jesse Pinkman (Paul) to use his scientific knowledge for financial gain, but soon finds he's trapped in a sinister world of drugs and crime. Breaking Bad will return for its fourth season on July 17th.

'Breaking Bad' premiere is 'shocking'
Quote:
The stars of Breaking Bad have promised that the upcoming fourth season premiere is "shocking".

Aaron Paul, who plays Jesse, told E! Online that the episode will continue the storylines from the last season.

"It literally starts off right where it left off," he said. "I can't wait to hear people's reactions, because they are going to lose it in the best way possible."

Meanwhile, Paul's co-star Bryan Cranston hinted: "Our premiere episode is very shocking."

Filming for the fourth season of Breaking Bad began in January after the show's network AMC announced that it had decided to postpone its air date.
Holy crap. Just when I thought my anticipation couldn't be any higher.

Well of course it must continue last seasons story lines, you don't
[Show spoiler]declare war against a cartel by firing the first shot on their cook and than not continue! But I was hoping it would pick up right from where Jesse pulled the trigger
so I am very excited!

Yeah I find it odd how when ever we get a press release or news about the 4th season they always say it continues season 3's storyline which is obvious as they wouldn't start a new story and every show I know continues the story they started with the previous season.

Is it July yet?

Anyone find anything recently about whether Gilligan is still ending the show after this season? As much as I love Breaking Bad, it would be sweet if it ended this season. 4 fantastic seasons and it didn't let itself drag on for years. I tend to think anything between 4-6 seasons for any show is the only way to go but with a show like this, open ended is not the way to go.

I know last season Gilligan mentioned he would like to end it after 4 but the cast want to continue. I haven't heard any official mention of there only being 4 seasons, it just seemed like that was more of a rough plan in the early stages. Besides the one line that Gilligan uttered very early on in the series has always stuck with me and I am still waiting "Over the course of the series we're going to take Walt from Mr. Chips to Scarface" and Walt still has a long way to go to reach that goal.

Yeah I'm hoping we get a few more seasons as the series still has a long way to go before it starts to get boring or repetitive IMO and isn't quite done yet with the stories it has left to tell.

There's not a chance in hell this show is going to end with this season.

It would be a very bad idea for them to end it after only 4 seasons. With the last season being the best of the series it only goes to show that everything is firing on all cylinders and there is still plenty of story left. I would be very happy with a 5 or 6 season run though.

I'm expecting it to be, at the most, six seasons. Like you said, Gilligan said his transformation will be into something along the line of Scarface. That has only just begun, and Breaking Bad certainly isn't a show that rushes the development for its characters.

Until I see Walt going face down into a giant pile of Crystal and offing Jesse for banging his sister, than going berserk on Gus' crew with an M-16 with an M203 attachment, I'm going to believe the show will continue.

He said he wanted to end it after four seasons between season 1 and 2 I believe.

There hasn't been anything else said about canceling since then.
