The last 10 minutes made me feel like I was going to throw up. It's amazing how they make the viewer feel like they are right in the middle of this with the characters. That last scene was quite possibly the best I've ever seen.

Absolutely right.

A lot of funny stuff (basically the entire Beneke and those two dudes scene). A lot of disturbing stuff, and just an incredible episode. I probably said this far too often, but I love the fact that I have no clue what's coming up next, and hate that I have to wait a week until it continues (I won't use "resolve", because that obviously won't be happening).
And might I suggest to leave off the "Meth-cooking" part of the thread title? I've seen a lot of great television, and there's hardly anything that comes close. Even The Wire.

I'm hard-pressed in thinking of a more unnerving moment in television than those final five minutes. I can't recall a moment in television that made me so on the edge of my seat, so in disbelief in where the writers are taking the show. I was just in utter awe. It felt like I didn't breathe at all over the course of those minutes.

This past episode was epic and had one of the best endings to an episode so far. I am sure these last episodes will make up for the mostly slow season.

As the season is about to end I am hoping Heisenberg returns. We haven't seen Heisenberg for quite some time. He almost made a return earlier this season when he was at Gus's house to kill him but was stopped with that phone call.

It would be a CRIME for Heisenberg to not return before the season ends.

HE NEEDS TO RETURN AND HE NEEDS TO KICK SOME SERIOUS ***!!!

Come on Heisenberg! The fans want you back!!!!!!

Yeah, she's annoying and hard to look at. I know she's preggo or whatever, but she just looks awful these days.
The last couple episodes have definitely kicked butt, but overall i still think S2 and S3 are better. So far.....

Oh, and i think "Boardwalk Empire" might have something to say about this whole "best show on television" thing.

Really? I thought the Boardwalk premiere was really solid, but after I watched the Breaking Bad episode after it, I pretty much forgot anything significant in the Boardwalk premiere. It just pales in comparison.

As for the comparison of seasons, this past episode has topped both penultimate episodes and season finales of season 2 and 3. The season has been on a streak for the past five episodes. Just when you think that was the best episode of the season, they manage to top themselves. The next two episodes are going to be nuts.

How about waiting more then 1 season before proclaiming something the "best show on television". Breaking bad is the King.

Well, to be fair, we're comparing a show that's close to it's end and one that's just ramping up. There should be more tension on BB and recently, there has been. For me, and i know i'm alone here in this thread, i'm just not as into BB as much as i used to be. I don't know why, but i really don't give a crap what happens to ANY of the characters anymore, except for maybe Jesse. It just seems they've been playing one note for about 15 episodes and i have battle fatigue. Will Hank find out? Who's gonna die? That's pretty much the only serious questions i've had for 3 years now.
Please, i'm not threadcrapping here. I love the show and i look forward to watching it every week. It's still very enjoyable. More than likely I'll be saying the same thing in 3 years if Boardwalk Empire makes it that far. It further reinforces my thinking that most tv shows with "big" looping storylines (non-episodic) should try to wrap it up in 3 years. After that, they either lose steam or get silly.

Yeah, I think HBO really dropped the ball on that one. They're usually pretty good about the cross promotional stuff. I really want Boardwalk on BD. The production values on that show are off the charts. Another reason i think it deserves to be in the conversation, as period dramas are much harder to pull off. Especially ones that mix fictional and non-fictional elements/characters like BE.

I said it might have something to say about it, inferring that Boardwalk is in the conversation, which it is. 12 hours of a television show is more than enough time to establish it as a major player. How many seasons of Deadwood, Wire, Sopranos, etc did you need to realize you were watching greatness? Look at all the awards Boardwalk has won in just one year compared to the Best Actor award that Cranston gets every year for Breaking Bad.
Nucky, Van Alden, Jimmy, Richard, Margaret, Chalky, Rothstein, and Capone are every bit as engaging and complicated as Walt, Jesse, Gus, and Hank.

Couldn't disagree more on that statement. Three seasons is far too limited for a show that is serialized. Just take a look at The Wire. There's no way that show would be as accomplished as it is if it went three seasons. There's no way Breaking Bad could have ended with three seasons, especially with the route Gilligan has been taking it. I would say season four is already on par with the third, and with these two remaining episodes, it could surpass it.

As for Boardwalk "winning all of the awards," most of the awards it has been winning have been technical. It was awarded the Best Drama award at the Golden Globes, but that was inevitable. They always hand out that award to the hot new show. Just look at their history. It didn't win squat at the Emmy's. When it comes to the 2012 Emmy's, not only will Bryan Cranston (who is pretty much a lock for a win) and Aaron Paul be nominated for their performances, but Giancarlo Esposito as well. A lot of critics seem to think last night's episode was the episode to give it a running shot for the Best Drama award. Granted, the fifth season of Mad Men has yet to air.

Anyways, awards aren't a good way to indicate quality. I think Breaking Bad is undeniably a better show in every way possible and currently firing on all cylinders, you don't.

After the last episode, Breaking Bad is pretty much tied with The Wire for all-time greatest TV show.

Yeah I'm with you. I have put The Wire at number 1 and nothing else coming close to it but BB is getting pretty close. One more season like this and it will be for me.

i honestly think this season is the best so far. ive loved every season but i feel like this year its on a different level and with how good the last 2 eps of season three were, and how intense this week's ep was, im guessing the next 2 weeks are going to be incredible.

It's funny. I can't get a plot idea out of my head, especially considering that the series will probably be over soon:

[Show spoiler]Walter White will eventually be killed off, and Jesse Pinkman will become the "Scarface"-esque drug lord mentioned by Gilligan.

I'm not sure it could happen, but I wouldn't consider it out of bounds for this show.

Jesse has become a badass, after Mike took him under his wing. I can already picture Jesse dueling double AKs.
