Overall Awesome.

I am kinda stumped about where the show could, should, will go. It almost felt like the end of the show because so many things were resolved. Here is how I see things currently...
[Show spoiler]

1. No more Gus problem. Dead
2. No more DEA problem. Lab is nuked, connection severed.
3. No more Cartel problem. Nobody left with a way to link Walt.
4. No more money problem. Some cash leftover and a thriving business.
5. No more Ted/Tax Fraud/IRS problem.

Why would he go back to cooking?
Definitely agree on all points, Squid.

[Show spoiler]I have been very curious about this as well. I think this next season may be a very interesting one as now... Walter will actually be able to make a choice, however, something tells me that he won't be able to leave the lifestyle behind and just move on. I think he is a different person than he was in the beginning of Season 1, and I think he will want to be 'King'. He won, and now is on top. Maybe the view from the throne will be too much for him to pass up.

Interested to see where they take it though, with one season left (possibly a 2 part season) it will be very interesting as obviously just based on episode count, there is not much room to develop a huge story, and provide closure for the show.

If he chooses to continue the meth business, I am curious about how he will proceed.

[Show spoiler]1. He doesnt have enough money to build a lab. Although Jesse has a lot leftover.
2. Where would he build a lab if he did have the cash?
3. I dont see him going back to RV style cooking.
4. Are we safe to assume he is the kingpin? How will Mike feel about that, as he was Gus's #1 right hand man?
5. If he lays low he is safe from the Cartel. If more "Blue" shows up, they'll come looking.
6. If he lays low he is safe from the DEA. If more "Blue" shows up, they'll come looking for him.

What the heck is going to happen?

Maybe Gus wasnt the TOP? Maybe that German conglomerate that "Owned" Pollos Hermanos was being funneled money from Gus. They wouldnt be happy if they were cut off overnight. Come to think of it, Gus seemed pretty stressed about keeping the production schedule in order to make the lab financially viable. YET, he offered the Cartel $50 million cash. Hmmm...that doesnt add up.

I'm pretty sure I felt the same way when I finished Season 4, I was actually thinking it was the series finale, or at least was supposed to be. But seems not. All I can guess season 5 can only be about how he's going to
[Show spoiler]take over the business and run it from the top, as it seems Walt suffers from Egotitous and has issues with pride, seeing as he has worked him way to the top. it'll be interesting to see if new budding meth cooks will try to knock him from the top, maybe by using the same way he managed to get Gus, by using his emotional connections to the real world.

But Foggy, is he really at the top?
[Show spoiler]The top of what. Its all gone. The lab is gone and the distribution chain is ruined. What about Mike? Do you think Mike will just say "Hi Walt, yeah sure, you just feel free to take command and I'll work for you now"? I dont see that happening smoothly.

I gotta wait a year just to get HALF the answers.

I'm pretty sure there's still a whole slew of meth addicts needing their next hit, there's still a bit of money left to start rebuilding, and from the sounds of it...

...he's pushing to get started

Default No English Subtitles for Spanish scenes during broadcasts or home releases

No English Subtitles for Spanish scenes during broadcasts or home releases? Am I going crazy or is Vince Gilligan doing this on purpose? Sorry if this is a duplicate question.

On the Blu-Ray you have to manually turn on the english subs during the spanish scenes and then turn them off afterwards or it will sub everthing. Which is annoying because the show is having more and more spanish.

Yeah, there is an unconfirmed error on the discs. It's pretty obviously an oversight, but nonetheless...

There is a fix:

The subtitle track that normally occurs on Seasons 1-3 when Spanish Dialog is spoken is present on Season 4, it just doesn't occur automatically.

Once you have inserted a disc (any, 1-3), and the show begins to play, pull up the pop up menu and select subtitles. Choose English, (not English SDH). Select it. Close the Pop Up Menu. Open it again, and this time switch the subtitles back to No Subtitles. Close it.

From now on, any Spanish Dialog that is spoken will automatically appear subtitled. It should be noted that once you change from Disc 1 to Disc 2, or from Disc 2 to Disc 3, one will have to repeat this process. The switch will remain though episode to episode on a single disc, but once the discs are changed, it will have to be repeated.

Thank You Adrock good tip.

Can they fix this with a firmware update? So season 1-3 Blu-Ray did have auto subs for spanish then I cant recall. I think during broadcasts on AMC their were no subs for spanish scenes and I turned them on with my cable box.

In the season 4 commentaries, Vince joked about Saul and Marie having sex That would certainly be interesting for season 5.

Its the disc, not the player, so no.

SONY also ficked up the Gag Reel bonus feature. It only occupies the upper left portion of your screen. Less than 25%.

Damn sony dropped the ball on this one they are a billion dollar company that is sad.

I thought they could fix it with the firmware by making it do the subtitle trick each time automatically.

If this was posted before, my apologies but it`s quite good.

Video is a recap of seasons 1 - 4 so don`t watch if you are not up to date with Breaking Bad.

Just finished season 4 last night. Fantastic stuff.

[Show spoiler]Gus' death was great. I hope he comes back in flash back form because I love that character.

With regards to season 5, I think Mike will play a significant part.
Since 5 is the final season, I see Walt starting out just working in the car wash and not cooking.
I think his cancer will return and force him to go back cooking because the car wash isn't doing well enough.

The big bad will be interesting. Someone mentioned the German conglomorate being the real boss. This is a good theory.

Maybe someone new altogether. With Gus's death, maybe certain dealers will think its free reign and they should be kingpin now.

Either way, looking forward to season 5

I agree that the German company will play a role this season. I also think that the way they have been setting things up, Walt will be the bad guy. He's got worse and worse as the story progresses and last season he took it to the next level
[Show spoiler](poisoning the kid, setting off bombs in nursing homes, etc..)

2nd Annual Critics Choice Television Awards: (I included all DRAMA awards so you can see what else won...)

Best Drama Series
Homeland - Showtime

Best Actor in a Drama Series
Bryan Cranston - Breaking Bad - AMC

Best Actress in a Drama Series
Claire Danes - Homeland - Showtime

Best Supporting Actor in a Drama Series
Giancarlo Esposito - Breaking Bad - AMC

Best Supporting Actress in a Drama Series
Christina Hendricks - Mad Men - AMC

Best Guest Performer in a Drama Series
Lucy Liu - Southland - TNT

I'm pretty sure Bryan will walk away with the BEST ACTOR at the Emmys again this year making him 4/4! It will be interesting to see if Giancarlo or Aaron PAul will get Supporting..if either do. I think they both have really good shots.

Best Drama, almost 0% chance. Mad MEn won 4 years in a row, and Homeland is a hugely popular with critics right now. Not that BB isn't worthy, but the competition is extremely hard right now. So many incredible Dramas, it's hard to reward them all! But as long as Cranston gets acting, making him 4/4, then I am extremely satisified! And I would really like Aaron or Giancarlo to win Supporting, but BOTH better be nominated at the very least! (99% sure they both will be)

I ran across it on some blog. I started to do some digging and found out that it's a t-shirt. This site has some pretty sweet BB stuff

"Breaking Bad"

The explosive drama series that Variety calls "simply one of TV's great addictions," returns to AMC for the first part of its final season on Sunday, July 15 at 10pm ET/PT. The final season of the Emmy(R) Award-winning drama consists of 16 episodes, with the first eight episodes beginning July 15 and culminating with the series' final eight episodes next summer 2013. Created by acclaimed writer, producer, and director Vince Gilligan and produced by Sony Pictures Television, the critically acclaimed series has garnered six Primetime Emmy(R) Award wins and a Peabody, and been named to the American Film Institute's (AFI) list of the "Top 10 Programs of the Year" (2008, 2010, 2011). In the highly anticipated new season, a newly empowered and increasingly remorseless Walt White (Bryan Cranston) finds himself attempting to control a tenuous empire. But uneasy lies the head that wears the crown.

New press release from the Comic Con panel announcement. Final season confirmed, once again for those foolish doubters.
