United Kingdom Breaking Bad UK Release - June 3rd 2013

About time! I know there are other threads out there asking whether or not any Breaking Bad blus have ever been released, but now I can confirm a release date has been scheduled for June 3rd for Seasons 1,2,3,4 and 5! No box set announced as yet, but it's awesome news nonetheless!!!

Preorder date should be around about Feb 11th

Source for this?
The last half of season 5 isn't starting until July - I assume we'll be shafted with half a season at full price.

It's likely that every country will be "shafted". We all knew that we'd get half now, half later. It's the way it's always been with half-season releases (Sopranos, Sex and the City, Futurama, etc).

The pre-order price for the DVD of 'Season 5' is cheaper than Seasons 3 and 4 were on release so it looks like they're taking the season's length into consideration with the price.

Fantastic news! Although i'm definitely holding off until the show is done and i can get the whole series in one box set. Breaking Bad really is one of the best shows ever made and i'm glad more people can now buy it on Blu Ray. (Lets hope they dont skimp on the extras like the German BDs apparently do.)

Now we just need Deadwood over here...!

I imported from Germany as well, though they were on offer so only paid about £55 for all 4 seasons. Obviously won't have to import season 5 now

Direct from Sony, just been added to their release schedule (I am a DVD supplier. It has its perks ).

Fair play though, it's a brilliant announcement. I've got 1 - 4 from Australia so I'm hoping they at least do an individual one for season 5 as I'd much rather buy direct from the UK than import.

EDIT: I misread your post as it being a boxset announced with no word on individual sets when it was the opposite. So brilliant news! I don't think there's a boxset out there in other regions yet (I may be wrong) so I reckon Sony will hold off and do a boxset after the final 8 episodes are released - maybe in time for Christmas.

I assume this is because, thanks to word of mouth over the past year and the upswing in DVD sales in the UK and its popularity on Netflix UK, Sony has finally been convinced there's an audience for it. Brilliant stuff.

I will definitely be doing the same, I tend to try and do that with all TV shows, and nice to know I won't have to import that boxset from the US when it does come out!

Yeah I do that as well, can't wait for the box set! Will definitely buy day 1, also I heard they're doing a 4k remaster for the entire series which is fantastic news.

no point ordering if your gonna be missing the final 8 episodes from the boxset

nice to see the UK getting a blu-ray release finally.
Only got into this show last year, but the first 2 seasons are highly re-watchable. Not too keen on seasons 3 and 4 though the FLY episode was brilliant.
I've not re-watched the first part of season 5 yet so unsure about that one.

Would like to see another duo-centric episode before the show ends. Those two are pure tv gold IMO.

depending how the show ends and if I can re-watch season 5 (on top of 1 and 2) then I'll definitely be pre-ordering the full and final boxset. Else I'll be awaiting a price drop if I dont think I'll be getting my monies worth in re-watch-ability

No boxset for these releases as there's still one more release to go. There'll likely be a boxset of all six volumes later on - hopefully around Christmas as they won't have to wait until a new season airs to release the next one.

Extras detailed for series 4 on Amazon and annoyingly no mention of commentary tracks. At least it won't be worth me replacing my Aussie disc, but UK gets shafted again.

Over 2 Hours of Addictive Extras:

• 21 Episodes of Inside Breaking Bad: A look behind the scenes of what it takes to create each episode
• Deleted Scenes
• Extended & Alternate Scenes
• Gag Reel
• Better Call Saul Commercials
• Behind-the-Scenes Featurettes

Did anywhere outside of the US get the commentaries? We may be getting shafted but at least it's not a specific UK-shafting. Just the norm for the worldwide release of this title.
