This is great news! I will definitely be buying the box set day 1. Hope it comes in a nice set.

You may be waiting a while - doesn't look like there are plans for a boxset yet, seems they're holding off and doing a 'Complete Series' boxset once the final eight episodes are released.

The good news is that it may come sooner than later as I imagine they'll try and get it out for Christmas (as opposed the recent releases which have been released a few weeks prior to the new season starting, something they won't have to do anymore).

While this is fantastic news as i have been waiting forever to get these on blu.

However im dubious about the S5 release date, i think it was leaked that S5 episode 9 was to be released in July this year, so as much as i wish for a complete s5 blu ray release in june, i doubt it will be as surely they would not release it on blu ray here before its even aired?!

Unless they are doing a Battlestar Galatica and calling the second half of season 5 "the final season" ?

The latter.

This release is definitely just the first 8 episodes, the first half of what is techinically season 5. However, as even the cast and crew have referred to the second half as 'the new season' or 'season 6' then the whole splitting of the season is tricky to define. It's like any show that splits its season across two years - Futurama, BSG, Sopranos, Sex and the City - if you keep up with the production you know it's a split season but, for casual fans and, to all intents and purposes, when it comes to promoting, airing and releasing them, they're seen as separate entities.

I think the last 8 episodes will just become season 6. The first season was even shorter at only 7 episodes.

True, but that was due to the writer's strike - the original plan was 13 episodes. But lucky for us it happened because it halted the original plans of
[Show spoiler]killing Jesse off in season one.

Since Breaking Bad is being released here, why isn't Justified? Another great show which has gotten the HD-shaft in the UK!

Amazon have put the pages up for each individual release now. Only Season 5 is available to preorder at the moment.

Never watched this show and had been waiting for some more spare time and/or a UK blu to start watching it. Since I heard they were bringing the series to a close I figured I'd wait until it ended to start watching because A) Greater likelihood of a UK blu ray set B) I can run through them all at once.

Seems like the time has come! Or will come within the next 12 months.

I get the feeling that this will be like Dexter though in that it will take ages for the price to come down. I'm still waiting for them to be sub £10.

Sony's usually good at bringing the prices down on their stuff. Look at how quickly their classics range (e.g. Taxi Driver, Lawrence of Arabia) come down in price. Only took two months for the latter to be in a 3 for £17 deal.

Nah, it's not going to sell out like that. Chances are the pre-order went up too soon (the OP did say February 11th) and they've taken it down for the time being.

It's still up at Sainsbury's if you're worried, and £2 cheaper than Amazon had it too.

They're all up for pre-order at amazon now:

Season 1
Season 2
Season 3
Season 4
Season 5

EDIT: They're all about £1 cheaper at sainsburys, if you prefer that
