In 2D or in 3D?

Lost in Space is not my favorite type of acting ever. It's more like made for soap opera TV.
It's plastic...almost pathetic. I would say it's bad all the way, even the special effects and the music.

The only thing I like a little is where it was shot, in my backyard. The forests and the trees and the coast and the ocean views I'm familiar with, very.

But yes, the rest is very plastic. Pretty pic perhaps but plastic nonetheless, no emotion, low grade acting...read poor.

The carpet is disgusting, it looks retro and dirty from the last hundred years of abuse.

No good to me unless the "of many" follow RAPIDLY. London is NOT the centre of the UK, despite it thinking it is, although I wouldn't be in the least surprised if it was first (but I would be and remain disappointed due to its undeserved excessive influence on UK culture). . There's only two Dolby Atmos screens within travelling distance of me as it is, such that I've only seen one film projected with Atmos sound (Blade Runner 2049).

Are you referring to Lost in Space on Netflix?

Good question! My comments pertained to the use of HDR not specifically the merits of these two shows. LOTR stated 2D or 3D which led me to believe he was talking about the old series.

Of course I do; I was replying to Paul and that's one of the series he mentioned, along with Altered Carbon.

The 2D/3D was simple humor. Lost in Space, from Netflix...the new series that just started recently...HD.

____

I watched couple hours, no more. I couldn't take anymore the plastic acting and the poor CGI effects; what we see and what we don't. That's my own personal take.

Penton, I must admit; I live in 3D Dolby Vision/HDR10+ country.
Everything is in ultra hi-def @ 256K, and super high frame rate @ 1,920fps.

I'm outside on an island right now typing this, looking @ the coastal line reflecting on the surface of the ocean above where two golden eagles are taking flight.

This is as real as it gets. The screen size is huge, 360 degrees allaround. It's the very best movie in real time, without an ending and without knowing the plot from one second to the next.
The soundtrack is the gentle breeze from the trees and the delicate waves washing ashore.

...22 Celsius and still climbing.

If HDR was named after a place it would be called "paradise".

As he’s also an islander, if this member is still around, you should reach out to ThatArtGuy who won a giveaway Spidey boxset Blu-ray contest I did way back when…. https://forum.blu-ray.com/showthread...es#post1115480

Anyway, as to your general neck of the woods, back in the day, while taking the Excal gondola up at Whistler for a race (I keep mementos hanging on the walls in my ‘man’ room)….

One of the local riders recommended that if I ever got the chance for an extended visit up there, to stay at a lodge in the Queen Charlote ?sp. islands. Never did get there, but must say, it all sounded intriguing.

ThatArtGuy; the Islander...I don't think I remember that username.

Anyway, the Queen Charlotte Islands are unique in the world, very.
I've worked there, in the forests alongside the coastal lines, just for a short while, couple times, years ago.
One word: Magic. ❇ https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Haida_Gwaii

I could write a book, but I won't. Not now anyway, and not here in the HDR thread.

No, I don't! Big can of worms that one!

I have a Samsung KS 2016 TV which cannot stream BBC 4k streams on the iPlayer platform due to its Tizen 2.4 OS' prehistoric baked-in broken version of the Encryption Media Extension library (reference) and the BBC's use of the well-established DVB-DASH standard and Samsung's refusal to rectify the situation: hence a 273-page Thread of Rage on the Samsung support forum since December 2017 .
