It's not getting a UHD disc release at all. The post is only referring to streaming, and MGM already has titles streaming in DV.

Death Wish, Silence of the Lambs, and The Princess Bride are all MGM only.
Creed is MGM and Warner
If I Stay is MGM and New Line (Warner)
The Magnificent Seven is MGM and Sony.

Agreed if they did a DV disc it would be huge news, but MGM has yet to do a 4K disc on their own.
If Fox creates MGM's streaming deliverables, then they've been doing DV for over a year. But Fox hasn't added DV to their own streaming titles.

Yeah, someone said in another thread it was streaming only...at which point my eyes glazed over. Couldn't care less, as whatever happens on that platform is no guarantee it'll translate to a UHD disc, especially where MGM is concerned.

[edit] And this isn't even the first MGM stream via Fox to have DV, so this is complete and utter non-news. Not fake news, just non-news.

All the major movie studios had committed to support Dolby Vision.

Is that a good movie with Brucy?

Indeed, we here thrive on presenting a collection of eclectic information, e.g. Dolby’s interest involving PQ-to-PQ′ luminance mapping for different ambient viewing environments with or without built-in TV sensors by the manufacturers.

Sure. I'm not saying that beaming things over the internet doesn't have benefits in some arenas. My, ah, 'special interest' collection would not be so vast without the blessed interwebs. But the day I actually pay to stream a movie through the ether? Not gonna happen any time soon.

You can stream HDR for less Geoff; for less than one 4K Blu-ray price ($30), only one third per month ($10) with Netflix. Etcetera.

Streaming is already the future. Physical sax is replaced by virtual flow.

Ho ho,

So now you’re drinking the Netflix kool-aid too?

I’m taking my vinyl, SACD’s and 4K disks for the afterlife, into my pyramid when I go. There won’t be any WiFi in there.

Never left, just don't post much.

Usually I'm trying to enjoy the discs I purchase and not commenting on them.

okay then, don’t get lazy and leave us all hangin at the train station,
where’s that Kayla eye-like movie recognition naming factor you prolifically expressed with the Scenartist banner several pages back (https://forum.blu-ray.com/showthread...r#post14941388, but with this protagonist’s humble process of doing penance as pictured on the facebook link…

Thanks puddy77!

As Fox is a production company as well as a distribution company, it seems more correct to say that Death Wish is the first film in home Dolby Vision distributed by Fox.

Fox is distributing (home) Dolby Vision film produced by other studio.
Will Fox produce film in (home) Dolby Vision?

https://www.slideshare.net/JenniferA...ess-11-11-2015

"Fox Home Entertainment has announced release plans for the home video version of Death Wish starring Bruce Willis in the role made famous by Charles Bronson.
On May 22nd, Eli Roth’s Death Wish will make its way into homes via Digital, 4K Digital with Dolby Vision, and Movies Anywhere. Death Wish Blu-ray, DVD and VOD 4K options will be available to purchase on June 5th."

Erm, I'm not sure what you're driving at? That I'm to know what's being played on the screen at that Facebook link? Looks like a Western to me, not my area of expertise.
