I was just about to post the same ^ ...
Vimeo adds support for Apple’s iPhone 12 Dolby Vision HDR videos

You can view your own home-made Dolby Vision HDR videos on your HDR display in Dolby Vision if your HDR TV supports Dolby Vision.

* Next year iPhone 14 shooting in 8K@24/30/60fps (10‑bit HDR, Dolby Vision HDR - up to 60fps)?
No 8K video recordings with iPhone 13, just 4K (good enough for now, but some other smartphones are ahead of the curve with 8K recording @24fps).

** The next universal Blu-ray player is a smartphone (compact, in your pocket, on-the-go).
Forget about a tray mechanism; it's streaming HDR now, plus your own videos. And 8K HDR is inevitable; we are already swimming in its first wave.

Paul’s TV - The King of Big Screen (Paul Goldenberg) Never went into any of his showrooms, but I visited Ken Cranes laserdisc emporium a number of times for some tasty CAV laserdiscs!

I used to live in Ventura county for a bunch of moons. (Sorry I’ve been MIA on view numbers, had some stuff goin’ on).

I had to look it up - Paul's business was big while I was in San Diego so I didn't see his ads.

And I did stop by Ken Crane's to pick up some LDs also, while visiting my folks in Redondo Beach!

not only a salesman, but a philanthropist to boot - https://jewishjournal.com/orange_county/8519/

The trek to his store on Harbor Blvd. was always worthwhile to me, for as an added bonus La Habra Cyclery is nearly right across the street.

So, I would suspect that the Sony A90J wins the Best of the Best –

of the V.E. 4k TV shootout, if not being the Best TV overall. With regards to that, in our southern California neck of the woods if you want to see the 83 incher (size matters) in person, purchase one and have it unboxed and set-up in your home at a cheaper delivery/set-up fee than what Best Buy offers (not to mention you can’t get a local BB rep on the phone nowadays anyway), I’ll direct folks to the stores of Video & Audio Center as they have the 83 inch A90J on display at their Lawndale and Century City locations and I’m informed soon to have on deck at their Santa Monica store which is likely more convenient for some working in various aspects of the motion picture business.

P.S.
Movie Trivia – Years later, Tom Skerritt (talking to the naval aviators in the YouTube above) played a Captain on an aircraft carrier in what motion picture and actually sounded quite similar? If memory serves, he began his presentation to those assembled with the phrase - “As you were gentlemen….”.

Since it’s football and recorded soccer matches for me today, I’ve only watched a few minutes of the intro of the V.E. shootout and it’s always a pleasure to hear someone correctly pronounce technical terms like -

And for you old timers who have had cataract surgery (we’re all headed to that if we live long enough), I’m informed it is not uncommon at all for those with artificial lenses to then develop posterior capsular opacification which presents as a subtle haziness or glare months/years after cataract surgery and can be easily corrected by an in-office procedure called a YAG Capsulotomy which only takes a minute or two.

I thought black was the best color for the walls in a home theater room. Or is gray only for if you are using bias lighting?

I just hope that Jim G. stepping down as Chairman and CEO wasn’t specifically the result of moving Top Gun: Maverick to next year because I think Paramount Pictures has accomplished a lot under his leadership and guidance - https://deadline.com/2021/09/paramou...ns-1234832516/

unber, one needs both for the best results, see Monitor Surround Size, Color, and Illumination of https://flandersscientific.com/tech-...nvironment.pdf

a Hollywood calibrator like - https://avical.com/ should inform you of the same and I think actually employs it in their personal home setup

Oh, I missed the 10 million+ views mark.

* Right now: 10,140,865 total number of views.
Strictly by the numbers (it don't mean a thing, not a thing), HDR and all.

should be easy and quick registration for non-members here - https://www.smpte.org/webcast/rethin...ment?hsLang=en

Note to questioner John in the ^ Q&A at about the 40 min. timestamp, this is the not officially standardized alternative color model you inquired about -
https://forum.blu-ray.com/showpost.p...postcount=3361
(JzAzBz)

addendum:
John's question was posed at 25:50 timestamp in the webcast replay rather than ~ 40 min. mark as noted above.
that tested the color difference metrics 4.0 ∆u*v* vs. ∆E ITP (which arises, you’ll recall, from ICtCp)

^ on a different note, like potential box office numbers for a presumptive theatrical exclusive debut for a film in the making, there is Hollywood news regarding Universal and Chris Nolan -> https://deadline.com/2021/09/christo...wo-1234832975/
