Seems that Sony is ladling a lot of that even-specialer sauce into this years A90J 4K display.
But... But... But... It's just a pathetic 4K TV, why would any manufacturer keep trying to improve the tech when the magick of 8K is plain for all to see? He aksed, rhetorically.

[Reiji Asakura's CES2021 Report 14] We have incorporated technology that maximizes the potential of organic EL panels. Where is Panasonic TV going in 2021?
https://online.stereosound.co.jp/_ct/17428876

Quote:
Asakura "GZ" and "HZ" talked about manufacturing panels using their own heat-dissipating plates at the Utsunomiya Plant. The same is true for this "JZ" series, and is it okay to understand that we have added something new?

Toyoshima The "GZ" and "HZ" have the same structure, and have evolved in the direction of making full use of the panels made at the Utsunomiya Factory. The "JZ" has a completely new panel structure.

Asakura The most distinctive feature of the "GZ" and "HZ" series is the evolution of the heat dissipation plate, and the structure of the entire panel has not changed. Does this mean that you have evolved the whole, including the whole structure?

Toyoshima You are right. A certain amount of power is required to achieve high peak brightness and rich gradation expression. Naturally, the problem of heat dissipation arises, so we have evolved it as a more efficient panel.

Asakura To put it simply, what are the changes?

The Toyoshima panel has a part that emits light as an organic EL and a part that is responsible for the heat dissipation effect, but we are reviewing it from the structure of how to combine them. Even if the same current and power are applied, the heat dissipation effect is different in the first place, so the panel can be made brighter.

Asakura : It seems that the black gradation has also been improved. Does this mean that you have added fine control in addition to heat dissipation?

Toyoshima This time, the image engine "AI processor" is also new. Optimal image processing is added, such as changing the gradation expression according to each scene by judging what kind of scene is reflected by AI.

Whether or not that person actually has that tv is open debate. His comments are quite vague at best.

Am I reading this correctly... Do you actually have Panasonic's JZ2000 and measured peak luminance with a 10% window at 1500nits?

He's quoting a comment from the video, from a person who claims to have the TV.

Once all these TVs are out there and can be put through their paces, it will be most interesting to find out how the A90J and JZ2000 compare to each other. I think those two will compete for the crown this year.

It shouldn’t be, as it’s easy for documentation to snap a pic of a TV or monitor - https://forum.blu-ray.com/showthread...0#post16518224

or, whatever, - https://forum.blu-ray.com/showthread...p#post18477299 even if there is a lack in correct spelling.

Unless the TV is 8K, we don't care if it only has one HDMI 2.1 port. How many game consoles and can you hook up anyway. Complaining about HDMI 2.1 is so 2020.

There will be no more new displays sold at any Frys Electronics in the USA. They just closed up shop with no advance notice about 20 minutes ago.

Any gamer has a right to complain about a TV in 2021 having only one HDMI 2.1 port, there’s already 2 systems using 2.1.

Sucks. Writing was on the wall though for them the past 10 years or so. I miss going there and browsing the huge aisles of movies and TVs. I still remember the themed Incredible Universe stores they took over some 25 years ago.
