I can also tell you that myself and every video enthusiast and the every day TV shopper that have visited our showroom all love our Samsung S95B store demo TV. We'll soon know if it's just blown out and oversaturated by the presets and how accurate the EOTG PQ Curve and Color Gamut measure.
Excellent! Looking forward to some measurements from you and probably DeWayne I'm guessing. I see the youtubers gushing over how the demo content looks on their new Samsung and yeah that's cool but it's not really representative of how I use my TV. I'm an oldhead who watches classic films mostly. In my opinion Samsung plays well with anyone heavily into gaming, anime, superhero movies, HDR demo content etc. The type of content where there's room for preference and everything is still a bit open to interpretation for just how it's supposed look. You know all this though

I'm curious about the role of the heatsink in the A95K this year. Without having to worry about the white subpixel anymore I wonder what approach they'll take. A lot of speculation regarding the A95K and how it reportedly only measured 1000 nits on a test pattern while the S95B can apparently produce 1500 in a short burst but not sustained. Well, Sony's strategy with the A90J heatsink last year was to go fairly easy on 1-10% highlights (because pushing small highlights to extreme degrees would just dilute color) and instead focus more on 25%, 50%, 100% windows [source]. The G2 seems to be going for broke with highlights this year (measurements) It doesn't have a heatsink though so the ABL really kicks in gear on the 25, 50, and 100 windows as you can tell by drop on sustained numbers.

Doesn't that happen every year? Has there ever been a TV that launched at the same or at a lower price than its predecessor?

Oh I didn't know that. Seems like they are the exception to the rule although I know if you look at prices in the long run they have come down quite a bit compared to screen size.

Not to be Sony-biased with display news out of NAB, but to give LG some facetime too - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=U8xSpbCqBFM#t=1m34s

I wish you would have told them we want the OG BMD, no X-wide angle and the return of (passive) 3D support...

Sony's new 2022 X95K MiniLED TV has Sony's new Backlight Master Drive and Sony's new 2nd generation of the XR processor.,

Sorry to say 3D is not likely to come back to any TV, but thankfully we still have new projectors coming out that support 3D.

So, in essence, forgiving the audio quality of the ^ clip, one significant benefit of this new LG monitor is that with 10 presets, it mitigates the need to having multiple client monitors in the mastering suite in order to check on what home users will see with the deliverables.

Unfortunately, the upcomig XW5000 does not have 3D (and on top of that no motorized lens functions either). I hope this will not become a trend.

The XW6000 will not be released in Europe, so that leaves the rather expensive XW7000 for us European Sony projector fans who still need 3D...
