TLDR they are not "abandoning" it they feel like they can market MiniLED as their flagship line. And it does seem like a very good one. But they are still gonna put out the yearly QD-OLED model and the step down WOLED
Makes sense though why they aren't calling SamsungDisplay model their flagship now. Not really to do with what the best PQ is. But their margins and marketing incentives. |

Many publications deliberately create click-bait headline and sadly the believers succumb to them. The 85X95L is as good, if not better than the ZD9 based on my viewing but Sony appear to have gone the extra mile on the LED-LCD space with their recent revelation and I can't wait to see the 85X95M. |

It's simple enough to figure out. A95L carries over as the top OLED for 2024, with no replacement. Meaning the X95M (if that's what it'll be called) is the only new flagship TV for the year, so obviously that's going to get all the hype as the top Sony of 2024.
Sony aren't getting rid of OLED anytime soon, it's just LCD's turn in the limelight. And I'm glad to see it. 2025 will likely be OLED's year again, when the time comes to release the A95L's successor. |

We'll know when Sony announce their 2024 TV lineup. Should be sometime in March, going by last year.
Even without a new 8K Z9 model I think the new X95 will be a worthy replacement for the Z9D, though. Sony seem to be delivering something very special on the LCD front this year. |

How reliable is HDMI certification?
I've a had a few produce different outcomes, one with great dark color contrast results, while the other has a brighter overall image and highlights. Is there a industry wide trusted brand that never fails to impress no matter the component its connected to. |

That ship sailed years ago. Philips brought them out in 2009/ 10 with a 56" to 58" LCD screen. They were cool but never caught on.
