I'm simply tired of corporate greed under the guise of inflation. It's not just happening with LG, it's home prices, cars, insurance, etc. and here comes LG trying to milk the consumers with a TV I predict will become obsolete by the fall.

What's wrong with Samsung, they did bring QD-OLED which most have said is superior to LG's WOLED. Now LG is bringing you an enhanced WOLED with extra nits (nits madness) and AI.

This would have made consumers cream about 5 years back lol Because it happened "incrementally" since 2022 some claim its little difference. Having said that it's progressing so quick for me I'm not rushing into this year. I wanna see next years lineup and then decide between this years and those. It's looking like it won't be expressly about the $$$ tag. |

Dutch retailer Expert Nederland appear to have leaked Sony's 2024 TV lineup by accident.
Edit: [video removed] The three premium models are called the Bravia 7, 8 and 9. Bravia 7 is Mini LED and comes in 65", 75" and 85". Bravia 8 is OLED and comes in 55", 65" and 77". Bravia 9, this year's flagship, is Mini LED and comes in 75" and 85". Bravia 7 uses Backlight Master Drive. Bravia 9 uses the all-new, much-hyped LED driver design that allows for many more local dimming zones. My personal thoughts... I'm a little disappointed they've seemingly abandoned 55" altogether for their higher-end LCDs. And Bravia 9 not coming in 65" is unfortunate as well. However, this is a Dutch retailer, they will obviously only talk about the models relevant to their market. It's not impossible other screen sizes will appear in other countries. We'll know for sure next month. Last edited by MechaGodzilla; 03-27-2024 at 12:53 PM. |

So then we can possibly draw the conclusion that it's a regional thing. Which we've certainly seen before, with the X95L last year for example being available in 65" and 75" in various European and Asian countries while North America only got the 85". But then there's also the question of, what countries get these smaller models? Will ours be among them? No guarantees of that. And I had a similar thought as you, as I'm in the market for a 55" and will finally get a new TV this year. If Bravia 7/XR70/whatever doesn't come in 55" - in Sweden or the rest of Europe, anyway - then I may have to look at OLED. The manufacturers are pretty much forcing me into that direction with decisions like this. We'll know for sure when the lineup is officially announced by mid-April. This was less of an issue on the X95L than the X95K, and is going to matter even less on the Bravia 9/XR90/whatever it's called with the new even more improved backlight control. I don't think anyone who gets it in a smaller size than 85" is going to be unhappy with it, but we'll see! |

And yes, the number of zones increases the larger the TV. There's more screen area to be covered, so it demands it. But the density of zones should hopefully be roughly equivalent if Sony have done things right, no? |

Within the L series, 85 is clearly the superior TV. I am sure the 75ZD9 was better than the 65ZD9 on certain aspects (better 3D, better panel uniformity, better motion processing etc.) I am excited for 2 TVs this year: 1. Sony 85X95M 2. LG 83G4 |

Mate,
If you have a strong wall, I would suggest wall-mounting as it may not look that overbearing in your room. However, if you have a partner who dislikes large TVs then tough luck lol. My 77 WOE-LED looked slightly intimidating for few days but after a week it started looking like a 65 and 65 looking like a 55. You just get used to it. |
