You need to call out Sony and LG because they refuse to incorporate HDR-10 plus into their TVs; they seem, not saying it's a fact, to have colluded with Dolby.

Streaming services and or content creators seem to have colluded with Dolby as well. I think Amazon Prime is the only streaming service that streams content in HDR-10 Plus.

I also blame consumers, Blu Ray Forum members, YouTubers, Influencers, and many in the A/V space, who told us how superior Dolby Vision is to HDR-10 and HDR 10 plus.

We all played a part in helping Dolby dominate the High Dynamic Range market, which by the way, is costing consumers, who are now asked to pay a premium price to streaming services for commercial-free content with Dolby Vision.

I mean no disrespect to Vincent, but I would like to see the actual Sony press release. Also, at no time have you provided any evidence, not even hearsay, that Sony raised its prices due to tariffs. Your "Verge" link above merely speculates upon the possibility of tariffs being a factor.

"The Verge has reached out to Sony for details on whether this pricing is meant to factor in the new tariffs."

I continue to believe Robert, an authorized Sony dealer, in this matter. A Sony dealer would know better than you if Sony had raised their prices due to tariffs.

Your disdain for pretty much every company in existence is well established by your litany of anti-everything posts. You need to stop being so bitter; it's not good for you.

I like my 85" Sony Bravia 9 TV and I am not ashamed to say so. I also like my LG TV and the Hisense TV that I bought as a gift for someone else. It's not all that unusual for people to buy things that they like and to tell others about it. It does make me wonder if you actually like anything; no one would know it from reading your comments.
Please read the article I just linked. Anyway, Robert has a really nice store and, by all appearances, a well-run and very respected business. However, he's still a salesman. His primary goal is to sell us products that he has in inventory.

Again, and please stop being naive, we have A/V reporters and insiders breaking this news to you, but you refuse to look at the proof. Sony is charging $500 more for a 65-inch Bravia 8 MKII than the supposedly 2024 "King of TVs," the 2023 A95L. That's about a 12.5 percent price hike from the year before, which is more than quadruple the rate of inflation.

I read the article that you linked to and I even quoted it. It is just speculation on the part of the Verge reporter. Speculation is not proof and nor is hearsay. The title of your article has the word "seemingly" right there in bold type.

"The Verge has reached out to Sony for details on whether this pricing is meant to factor in the new tariffs."

Show us the Sony press release where Sony says that the Bravia 8 MII would be more affordable than the A95L. Show us where Sony said that their current prices reflect the impact of tariffs. Showing us these things would constitute proof.

I still believe Robert despite your suggestion that his being a "salesman" makes his statement somehow suspect.

I will quote Robert again:

To the best of my knowledge Sony has not raised any TV prices on the claim of tariffs.
I have yet to read anything that refutes his comment.

I never thought of myself or fell like I am ever acting like a salesperson. I only tell the truth.

Please know that Sony is using Samsung Display's New 2025 4th Generation of the QD OLED panel, that is brighter, has better color saturation and higher dynamic tonal range than the lower cost 2024 QD OLED panel that is used in the A95L.

Also know that Samsung is the only other company that is using Samsung Display's New 2025 QD OLED panel in their S95L and S90L that are also more expensive than the 2024 S95D and S90D. So the same example holds true for Sony and Samsung with the same 2024 and 2025 QD OLED panels and price increases on the new 2025 QD OLED TVs.

You added this tidbit after I had already replied.

I am neither defending or criticizing the price of the 2025 model year 65" Sony Bravia 8 MII. Without a doubt it is an expensive TV. Flagship models kinda always are.

Considering that the A95L is a 2023 model I am not surprised that a brand new 2025 model costs more. That's two years of inflation to consider along with the higher costs of newer and more advanced parts.

Is it worth the price? I do not know as I have not seen it nor have I done any research on it. But I do know this: I am at liberty to not buy it if I am unconvinced of its merits.

I'm not saying you're acting like a salesman. What I'm saying is that you are a retailer, and the foundation of your business is selling products, just like any other retailer.

I'm sorry, but the Bravia 8II is not a flagship TV, see the plastic remote with no light. Sony did not introduce a flagship TV for 2025. Many believe that Sony will bring a RGB Mini-LED to the market in 2026 as their next flagship.

Sony's New 2025 BRAVIA 8 II, model # XR80M2 is Sony's New Flagship QD OLED TV.

It is true that we'll have Sony's New 2026 Next Generation of MiniLED display technology with the first RGB MiniLED TVs sometime in the late Spring to early summer of 2026, and hopefully sooner.

We also offer Sony's Flagship backlit remote control with a special Bundle discount w/BRAVIA 8 II QD OLED TV purchase. You can also use some of our exclusive 10% store credit to pay for Sony's premium backlit remote.

So lg shill Vincent is wrong also

https://www.hdtvtest.co.uk/news/sams...oled-tv-seller

Samsung Electronics has knocked LG Electronics off of its perch in the OLED TV segment in North America, selling more TV sets than its rival for the first time.

That’s according to the latest market data from Omdia, which covers the first quarter of this year. The report comes after it was revealed that Samsung shipped more OLED TVs than Neo QLED Mini-LED models for the first time, last year.

Sony and other manufacturers choose how much to invest in R&D and component quality. As a consumer you choose what's best for your budget.

Is that remote fully compatible with the Bravia 9 and what would it cost me to get one?

Wow they don’t provide their flagship remote with their overpriced flagship TVs? Yikes. They definitely take advantage of “A sucker is born every minute”

Wow trashy lg flagship remote
No, the LG C5 OLED's Magic Remote does not have backlit buttons. This is a common complaint, especially for users who enjoy dark room viewing. While the remote is generally well-regarded for its other features like motion control and pointer function, the lack of backlighting can make it difficult to use in low-light situations.

More than R&D, a company like Sony probably spends more on marketing. They have clearly and in-depth studied the writings of Edward Bernays. How else could they convince people to overspend on their TVs.
