HighDefDigest gave the domestic Uni HDDVD, which was originally released exactly 2 years ago, a 4.5/5 on PQ, and 4/5 for AQ (DD+ track). This bodes well for the BD release, if history is any indicator.

The movie's been out in the UK for a long time so it's definitely the US release, no worries there.

I'm wondering if I should get this movie or not. I'll watch it first and figure out if I'll want to watch it again or not.

First day buy for me...loved the film once I sat down and gave it a chance. When it was in theaters I did what alot of others did which was beat down the film for it's homo theme. But when it premiered on HBO one Sun night, I said to myself, "Alright, let's find out what all the fuss is about".

LOVED it.

Awesome cinematography, settings, *characters that were brilliantly acted.

One of the things that struck me when I first saw it was the outdoor landscapes and I thought "this will look amazing when it comes to blu"

Seen it, was alright but did not really see what all the hype for this movie was about, except the fact maybe that you got 2 male characters in love with each other. Not something I would care to ever watch again so I will be skipping the release.

Got to agree that it will probably look stunning on BD since there are quite a few outdoor scenes from the Canadian Rockies.

The UK release was one of the first Blu-Rays I bought, and I was pretty impressed with it, particularly the big outdoor shots.

Bought the 2-Disc Collector Version the day it came out
Bought the HD-DVD the day it came out
Will now be buying the Blu the day it comes out

Well, that phrase pretty much just killed it for me. Ive avoided the movie like the plague and will continue to do so. Hey - its a free country. Do as you please as long as you dont break any laws and as long as I dont have to pay for it or have it infringe on my well being.

Theres plenty of great films to watch. I can safely skip this and not worry about what I supposedly missed out on.

Honestly, I felt it was a little washed out.

Definitely another reason to check it out in Hi-Def....well...that...and Anne Hathaway naked in the back seat of a car

My main gripe with the UK edition is the very clunky layer change, which actually causes a brief pause in playback on my Panasonic BD35 player. Hopefully the US edition won't have any such problem.
