I'd love to see these two but I'm not sure if they were filmed on actual film stock or not. Assuming they were these could be awesome releases.
Wasn't "The Sopranos" in HD from the beginning?

Default TV shows on Blu-Ray

Hey all!

New here and a recent new comer to blu-ray.

Ive been reading through this thread and had some questions about television shows on blu-ray.

Ive been shopping around for some tv shows on blu-ray and can only find most of them on DVD. Many of these are pre-HD shows and I was wondering if and how it will be possible in the future for these shows to be released in HD? I assume the aspect ratio will be impossible to upgrade to 16:9 but can the resolution be upgraded?

What seasons of Curb your enthusiasm and Entrouage were filmed in HD?

Thanks

Give me Dexter 1 and 2 and no one gets hurt.

Just kidding!

You'll get hurt either way, but I can make it mercifully brief...

Good to know, hopefully I won't resort to buying the Soprano's on DVD; I've been waiting for a series set on Blu for quite some time now...

All In The Family
The Jeffersons
Sanford And Son
Sid and Marty Kroft shows:

Land of the Lost
Sigmund and the Seamonsters
H. R. Pufnstuf
The Lost Saucer
Far Out Space Nuts
Wonderbug

I could go on and on...
Sadly all of those were TAPED with studio video cameras, so they can never be HD. What you you see on regular DVDs is as good as it gets. This is true for a ton of shows from the 70's and 80's (some of the best television ever).

The only shows that can be in HD are those taped in HD or Filmed in 35mm.
I saw a show on PBS HD about classic tv, and the Andy Griffith show, Dick Van Dyke show, we shown in HD... IT WAS AMAZING!!!!!! For some reason they haven't rerun it since.

When the 3rd re-release of Twilight Zone was released it said it was remastered in HD, I assumed they already have it waiting for when Blu-Ray players drop in price.
