As always... Luck sucks the entire game, but plays well when it counts. I guess that's where the hype comes from.

Still overrated.

This is the same thing that happened to us... Up 27-14 with 7-8 minutes left... And blew it.

Great game though.

It's a good thing those reports about Kaep having a $126 million contract with $61 million guaranteed were completely false. Assuming Kaep is released after the season he'll end up making about $23.37 million, although he had to buy a $20 million disability policy with post-tax dollars that named the 49ers as beneficiaries if he suffered a career-ending injury and that wouldn't have been cheap.

It's usually wrapped into the contract, but yes... players will want insurance on that money.

Also happens in other sports, but since contracts are guaranteed in the others, the team takes out the policy to protect itself.

It's virtually unheard of for players to get insurance that names the team as a beneficiary. It's not uncommon for a player on their rookie contract to get insurance on future earnings that protects them in case of a devastating injury. Tony Romo had it, Mets pitcher Matt Harvey currently has it, and many college players have it, but those policies protect the player, not the team.

Kaep had an agent that had virtually no experience with marquee players and the major agents were trying to vulture Kaep away so the agent needed to get a deal done, and it ended up being a deal that a major agent never would have agreed to.
