According to Deadspin the draft this guy advised the Browns on was the 2014 Draft where they took...
Well to be fair, Ray Farmer was the GM at the time and probably didn't listen to anyone else when those picks were made. I have a hard time believing a military guy would sign off on Gilbert and Manziel.

The Manziel pick was mostly owner Jimmy Haslam's doing. Haslam said after that draft he was convinced to pick Manziel after a homeless man on the street told him to pick Manziel. Who knows if that story was true, but most people associated with that Browns regime said the front office and coaching staff didn't want Manziel and preferred Teddy Bridgewater but were overruled by Haslam.

Very sad to hear Katherine Ann Berman, wife of Chris Berman lost her life in a car accident yesterday. They were married for over 30 years.

The story may or may not be true, but the selection of Manziel was definitely owner interference. I read somewhere where one of the front office staff said Manziel wasn't even on their board.

On a work call right now regarding 4K DTV service...it's not set in stone, but we're targeting the Thanksgiving Cowboy game as our first live NFL 4K broadcast.

This wouldn't affect the Lions because they aren't in line to get any compensatory picks but it could cause the Ravens and/or Giants to not sign him since they are in line to receive 7th round compensatory picks. It's a pretty ruthless move by the Patriots since they have no intention of keeping Blount and it could affect Blount's ability to get a deal while at best getting the Patriots in the #250 range.

Let's not forget the driver in the other car also died. From the reports so far it seems Katherine Berman rear ended him, causing the deadly crash.

Any chances Sunday Ticket will start to be offered with DirecTV Now?

They said the pick can be anywhere between the 3rd and 7th round. Looks like he might be a pat then.

Not sure, man...this was strictly a 4K discussion and I work on the mobility side. I was just interested in the subject matter and made sure to attend.

Compensatory picks are based on how much money the player gets, and to get more than a 7th round pick Blount would have to get a deal that pays him around $3 million or more. Blount isn't getting that much from any team, so the most he'd get the Patriots is a late 7th round pick. Barring an injury I just can't see a scenario where the Patriots would have interest in keeping Blount with Burkhead, Gillislee, and White locks to make the team, Bolden a safe bet due to special teams, and Dion Lewis a safe bet with only a $1.2 million salary.

Apparently Titans receiver Tajae Sharpe didn't like the team using it's first round pick on a receiver:

Quote:
Tennessee Titans receiver Tajae Sharpe and guard Sebastian Tretola are the targets of a civil suit led by a Nashville man who alleges Sharpe assaulted him outside a bar while Tretola served as a lookout.

According to FOX 17 in Nashville, Dante R. Satterfield filed the lawsuit against Sharpe and Tretola on Wednesday.

Satterfield alleges that he was asked to step outside the bar, Tin Roof, after commenting to Sharpe that he would likely receive less playing time with the Titans’ selection of Western Michigan receiver Corey Davis in the first round of the draft earlier that night.

The lawsuit alleges that Sharpe then beat Satterfield unconscious and left him with injuries that included a concussion, facial fractures, bruising and a perforated ear drum. The lawsuit states Satterfield was found by a passerby, who called 911.
Sharpe's attorney denied the claims and said it's nothing more than a shakedown attempt. The alleged victim is working with police but so far neither Sharpe or Tretola has been arrested or charged with a crime.

According to what I heard, we are in talks with the NFL and if all goes well and that game comes to intuition, then it will most likely serve as the springboard for more 4K games to come.

I've been looking into 4K tvs for awhile now so I guess it's time to deffinetly get one. I am out of contract with DTV so it's going to be easy to upgrade to 4K.

The link has a good explanation of why the Patriots used the rarely seen tender on Blount and how it's not truly about getting a compensatory pick for Blount, it's about ensuring they don't lose their 4th or 5th round compensatory picks they're set to gain for losing Jabaal Sheard and Martellus Bennett:

Quote:
If Blount signs elsewhere for less than $2.25 million APY (i.e., less than Chris Long), the 7th round pick that opens up is for Blount, at whatever APY he gets. The problem though is that an APY less than $2.25 million is unlikely to make the 32-pick limit. Looking at the current list, the last pick is going to the Bengals for Margus Hunt at $2.05 million APY. Also remember that running backs generally do not get as many snaps as other players, so Blount may need an even higher salary to account for that. If Blount were able to get more than $2.25 million APY, he would be canceled out and the 7th round comp pick opened out would be for Long. But again, on the current list Long would still be the very last pick.

So are the Patriots trying to make a play for the Mr. Irrelevant pick? If they are thinking about comp picks, what’s more likely on their mind is the worry that Mingo or Long may not make their new teams’ rosters, and in the case of the 32 year old Long, retirement can’t be ruled out either. If one of Mingo or Long is removed from the chart, the Patriots would lose their 5th round comp pick for Bennett. If both are removed, the Patriots would be completely shut out of comp picks.
