I like the college system. Only problem is it can screw up (inflate) statistics. If a game goes to 4 or 5 overtimes a QB can pad his stats with a whole bunch of TD's. Then again these days passing stats are ridiculously inflated anyhow compared to all past eras so it may not matter much.

Which is just stupid.

Hence why it needs to be backup players

Yeah, that was a bummer. I wanted to work 7 days a week to get it finished and make a ton of money and then take some time off. Probably still get a fair amount of OT, but definitely not as much.

That's a huge shoe deal for an NFL player Odell landed.

http://www.espn.com/nfl/story/_/id/1...eal-nfl-player

Quote:
After a competitive battle, Nike re-signed the most valuable football player on its roster in New York Giants wide receiver Odell Beckham Jr.

Terms were not disclosed, but sources with knowledge of the deal say it's a five-year deal worth in the neighborhood of $5 million a year -- the richest shoe deal for an NFL player and about two times more than any previous deal Nike had with a football player.

The deal will make Beckham a larger brand spokesman for Nike, including campaigns outside of football.

The deal got so big because Adidas wanted to take Beckham from Nike, sources said. Nike had the right to match the offer, which it did.

I would love it if the Super Bowl was on Saturday. I understand why the Super Bowl is on Sunday, but it would be so much more fun if people could spend the whole day partying leading up to the game and not having to worry about work the next day. Odds are though if it was on Saturday I would have no memories of actually watching the game.

Yep the ratings would never be as good.

Super bowls need casual fans & you would lose some that go out on a saturday night + if game wasnt as close more fans would tune out & go out too.
With it on a sunday worknight more people will stay home & watch.

Same reason the oscars etc are on a worknight & not on saturday.

Also the pregame show (which they make alot of $$ on too) would take a big hit being on a saturday afternoon.
+ it would be another sunday with no football & you know the nba would take advantage & sched a cavs/warriors game.

I disagree. Both the Bowl and Oscars have party nights centered around the show. I would bet the amount of those parties more than make up for the casual fans that go out to do other things.
Of course we won't really know until it happens, and it won't happen until the massively flawed ratings system gets: overhauled, new any competition or a more accurate accounting from content providers.

They actually just released the new out of home #s for SBLI.
Only added 12.6 million to the 111.3m.
Not as much as they thought it would be so you know those #s are still way way too low.

So like you said parties still hurt the #.

Again, those numbers a flawed. The only reason they are gospel is because Nielsen is the only game in town.

Not really because no matter what advertisers are gonna buy time. They raise the price every year and still sell out. I think everyone know a ton of people are watching, the actual number really doesn't matter.

People will plan accordingly if the SB is on a Saturday. Just don't be stupid about it like NCAA and do Saturday games on a holiday (New Years Eve).

I know this won't happen, but F all the ratings and let the fans have what they want: good football. I don't care about the pre-shows and the music.

I really like the Hodges signing. Really good depth guy with potential for more.
