Too much revenue, I think teams just need to learn not to play starters so much in pre-season. Practice and camp should be enough!

I think the league can survive without the loss of a small percentage of revenue.

They charge regular game prices for pre-season games so they get about 20% of their gate from exhibition games. Owners aren't going to cut that in half and I don't blame them. It's also why I will never go to a pre-season game.

And I agree 100% - plenty of potential. And so have some of the other previous QBs that Cleveland drafted, then rushed, and ultimately ran out.

Is anybody else's Raycom owned channel (mine is NBC Wave 3) about to go blackout in a few days? Raycom is threatening Directv to pull there channel if they don't reach a new deal by Aug. 31st.

And here it is, 2 weeks before the NFL season starts.

I really hope this next league/PU contract negotiation focuses heavily on the complete nonsense that is preseason games. How much talent lost on these meaningless games is it going to take to make the league realize they might be devaluing their overall product? Money earned on preseason games is such small fish, that having the proven talent on the field week 1, and beyond must far outweigh it. In this day/age of stats, saber and all types of analytics this can easily be figured out.
Heck, trim those 4 games to 2. This give some preseason revenue/interest and allows for conditioning/player evaluation....AND basically decreases the overall chance of wide spread injury by roughly half.
This isn't baseball. No need to move at a glacial pace.
