Have to agree with Bill Simmons on some of these.

Maybe ratings drop will be the thing that finally gets rid of Goodell. NFL not invincible anymore.

2. The preseason is a dangerous, insane waste of time that exists only to injure players and steal money from season-ticket holders.

We only blew out 33 ACLs this preseason. I give up.

More people follow football than ever now. It's just that the game is starting to be followed in different ways. If the NFL would fully embrace streaming, they could get higher ratings than they ever have. Cord cutters are hitting sports now.

The deal with Direct tv for Sunday ticket is probably a bad deal for the NFL now.

The NFL Sunday Ticket deal is exclusively for DirecTV and doesn't expire till like the end of 2022-23 season. That means even if the NFL wanted to have a streaming only plan, they can't till that contract expires. They can do things with Monday Night, Thursday and Saturday games, but Sunday games are exclusively DirecTV.

I do remember like a couple years ago a survey going around about if the NFL were to offer multiple providers and/or streaming based plans. I think it also offered the option to just follow one team, instead of all the team either thru a cable/satellite provider or some online streaming provider.

I was amazed that the NFL agreeed to extend the Directv deal that long. As a Directv subscriber for over 20years, I'm quite happy. One of the few bills I actually look forward to paying.

Other cable companies have offered the red zone channel for 10 dollars a month. I wish that was an option. The whole package is too expensive for us and I only really want the red zone channel anyways. I am glad I get it for week one and hope the hurricane keeps the power on here long enough for me to enjoy it.

I don't care for the Red Zone. I do the mix channel 1pm/4pm games, all day long. Eight games all at once. I'm so glad they dropped he RZ channel from the mix, as it was one less game(one most weeks) that I could scan. FF has driven me to this.

Fantasy Football is why I love the red zone. No commercials and every scoring play and big play form every game. I love it.

Ok, and I bet I win 9/10 times.
That's just going by standard scoring. Then you have leagues that give bonuses for rush/rec yds over 100/game and pass yds over 300/ game.
Plus if someone gets injured I want to know right away. In any event, glad there are multiple channels.
