If you ever needed proof it's simply not an NFL city...wasn't Goodell one of the main backers of putting TWO teams there? San Diego got majorly shafted on that one.

Nope. The Chargers owner wanted the city to pay an outrageous price, the city said no way, so they moved.

Yup! Spanos wanted a stadium downtown with the convention center & Petco Park. SD said we will help with a new stadium @ Qualcomm & he got shitty & the residents voted against the proposition & they left! And the city could care less now!

Personally I think if a franchise relocates the owners should be forced to pay the league the difference in appreciation of the team value. Owners should not be able to benefit from an increase in franchise value of $200 million plus simply by swapping cities. Though if these new LA teams don't pick up the pace in fan support that added value will crash regardless.

I loved that election result. Around 60% voted against the shitty deal. I tend to think all city giveaways/corporate welfare should be voted on by the voters. A lot of these stadium deals are rammed through by city or county commissions with little to no public input.

There's actually a decent chance the Rams make the Super Bowl and nobody gives a crap. They're as talented as any NFC team minus the Eagles. They have a real shot.
