If Detroit trades Stafford they are on the hook for 23 million in cap hit. That is just not going to happen this year. However had they been smart and not won the last game they would be drafting number 5 and could have moved up to get Haskins, rode out Stafford this year while working with Haskins traded Stafford next year and been a very good team.

Don't think the Giants are interested in ditching one old guy for another. They'd be the best bet to move up the draft to get him. Jacksonville's gonna be in the market for either Flacco, Foles, Bridgewater, Stafford, Carr, etc. Whoever they can get.

And I think it's closer to 30, yikes... that is a TOUGH sell. But dang, I just don't see this guy having any new success..

Starting to think it'll be Rhule as HC with Monken as OC...for me, that would be a nice pairing. Kingsbury has a great offensive mind, but would require a lot of surrounding support.

I would think getting someone who can develop Darnold has to be the first priority. McCarthy seems like he could do that.

I was alright with the resigning just because we don't have a starter waiting in the wings and we were too far down in the draft order at the time to get a replacement, aside from taking a mid/late round gamble. Mainly, it's the salary that we are paying him.

But yeah, a retool is probably best.
