I tried giving baker the benefit of the doubt but he's losing me with the poor sportsmanship. I think the point of him having a shoddy o-line is valid though, he can do good things when he has time in the pocket. As far as the hype, sure he runs his mouth for someone who hasn't done much of anything yet but a lot of that is the media too. Kitchens needs to go back and look at game film from last season and see what was working for them and incorporate it into this season. They still have a chance at the division. PIT and CIN aren't good and the hype on BAL has faded some.

After dropping 4 straight, they won 5/7 to close the season. The problem here is that was fools gold. Of the 5 wins, 2 were against a D4 Bengals team, home against Atlanta/Carolina who had(and continue to have) bed pass defenses. Then you have the lone “quality” road win in Denver(by 1 point). Baby didn’t reach 200yds, and Chubb ran for 100. So in the off season they add a bunch of mouths in the locker room and now we are seeing the results. Maybe they turn a corner but I’m doubtful. The more likely outcome is the mouths get even more mouthy and head to social media instead of the playbook. |
