if the quarterback overperforms and the defense drops off a little, they could still win the division. the jets should be better (which account for two of buffalo’s wins) and the dolphins should be better. the bills win against the steelers doesn’t come if big ben is playing. tennessee runs the ball and doesn’t miss four kicks in one game. they had so many lucky breaks that went their way, that i don’t see it happening again. and the other teams on the division should be better. when they had jimmy g and brissett, they stole a win against arizona and then a game against miami and the defense shutout houston with a 3rd strong qb. who might even be available again. there are a lot of qbs looking for work, and i can’t imagine they wouldn’t go for a super low deal for new england and maybe steal a wildcard spot. |

Cam's injuries prevent him from being that caliber of player that he once was.
The last full season that Cam played, and he was playing through a bad shoulder from the start of it, he was leading in passer rating and was the top qb through the first half of the season, and then the shoulder just kept wearing down. It got so bad that they would bring n the back-up for the hail mary tries, as Cam's shoulder was completely shot in those final few games. Cam has been injured for, what, the past 4-5 years now? If he's healthy. he's a top 5 talent...but when has he been healthy lately? Why would a team suddenly expect Cam to buck the trend and be healthy from here on out? I'm sure a team will take a chance on him though. I'm not sure he's going to get a longterm deal, however. |

Oculus is coming along nicely.
Getting a lot of seats installed on many levels. So tired of the NOISY fire alarm testing constantly blaring. Looks like there’s a big change coming in the schedule due to the mini flu thing floatin’ around. D65384AA-12F8-4527-B77B-41F5635DCFB7.jpg |

I was afraid this would happen, after striking out on Jones. This move reeks of desperation. Not sure how this is a “get younger” move, as he just turned 29 and will be 30 when the playoffs roll around and is coming off his worst year, statistically.
Now he’s making more than Jones?? I’m completely baffled at what the gameplan was this year, assuming there was one. |

"Age is no guarantee of efficiency."
"And youth is no guarantee of innovation." I'm fine with getting Slay, he's a clear upgrade over anyone we currently have and we didn't exactly break the bank to get him. Now maybe we can focus on WR in the first round, perhaps even trade up for Ruggs or Lamb. I'm still pissed we didn't take Metcalfe last year. Howie needs to start taking risks on weapons. |

He’s an automatic upgrade over any CB currently on the roster, that’s for sure.
Don’t think the juice is worth the squeeze here. Plus some of those funds probably came at the expense of not paying Jenkins. I get that it’s a business, but they should’ve paid Jenkins, he has so many intangibles: locker room, off the field, etc. Philly did the same thing with Dawkins and most likely Peters. Not good business to make a habit of casting off team legends. We will see how this story ends. As of right now, I’m not overly thrilled at the total cost. I know it would be impossible to implement, but it would be cool if teams had retirement contract they could negotiate. Meaning a player signs a legit 1yr deal for money that wouldn’t count against the cap/or fully count...all on the understanding that the player retires after that year. That way people like Jason Peters can make that last big contract and it wouldn’t limit the team and everyone would know he is retiring at seasons end. Very rough idea, but seems like it could work for players and teams. Last edited by rickah88; 03-19-2020 at 03:50 PM. |
