Does a season toll on their contracts when they opt out? I know this was a big discussion point during negotiations.

I don't know but I'm guessing at the least he won't get paid. Not sure what it means for franchise players like Prescott or the other 11.

Could be the first of many. Put a fork in this season. Let the pandemic run its course and let health care workers try to stay ahead of it.

Would rather take sub-optimal football than no football at all. Let them play.

Amen, brother. Glad sports are coming back, I’ve missed them incredibly much. Hopefully they can pull it off.

genuine question....

why don’t they wear masks under the helmet? or make a full face shield on the helmets? wouldn’t that cover them from the spread during the on the field activities?

but they’re not in a bubble like the nhl is trying.... so to travel every week for 17 weeks and risk infection every week for 17 weeks? i just don’t see how a team doesn’t get compromised at some point.

especially with three teams in florida, two teams in texas, one team in arizona, one them in georgia and two teams in california... all area that have only seen continual increases in cases.

Genuine question....

Regardless of what shape you’re in, go strap on the pads, helmet and mask then do wind sprints for about 20mins, off and on every 2mins, in 90 degree heat.
Let me know how that works out for ya.
Should have your answer.

Yeah I'm a marathon runner and even I have severe issues with running at all in 90 degree heat, much less in a mask.

That’s not a bad trade for the Jets.

Not bad?! Sheeeeeeeeeeeeeeet, brah. However awesome he is (and he certainly is arguably the best S in the league), we got rid of a malcontent and got a haul in return. Oh yeah, AND he didn't go to DAL like all their fans were predicting all along.

I never wanted him because he's a S, we need front 7 help more and he's going to get a king's ransom for his next contract.

In the right scheme (like Gregg Williams'), he's so much more than a safety, but yes, he's gonna demand that big contract and dude still had a year left with the Jets.

It’s worth “up to” $2 million. Osemele underwent surgery in the middle of last season to repair his shoulder, and things got ugly with the Jets who ended up releasing him in October. Now healthy, Osemele joins the defending champs in Kansas City where he'll try and fill in for RG Laurent Duvernay-Tardif, who has opted out of the 2020 season. It's a great landing spot for Osemele and another veteran presence to protect the half-billion dollar man.

He’s extremely versatile, but he’s also going to be a pain in the neck if he doesn’t like what Seattle is offering him.

Dalvin Cook's agent Zac Hiller refutes the report that his client will show up to training camp on time.
Earlier on Saturday, coach Mike Zimmer told reporters that Cook had spoken to him and that his star running back would be at training camp. That's apparently not true. It's unclear when and if Cook will show up to training camp, but there are a lot of financial reasons incentivizing Cook to show up to the first practice. For instance, to become an unrestricted free agent next season, he'll have to be there from the get go. Cook is still threatening an in-season hold out, as it's one of his few leverage plays. The Vikings have a history of signing their players to long-term deals during training camp, so it's still way more likely that Cook plays than sits Week 1. Alexander Mattison remains a high-upside insurance back regardless.

the nfl has money and i’m sure they could come with a solution. hockey players with broken jaws are able to play with full face shields.
they could have had someone working on it all this time. a full helmet, like a motorcycle helmet that has better air filtration for breathing, wouldn’t be impossible to be engineered.
oh it would be uncomfortable? worse than people who have played with concussions or running backs who get pounded all week?

also as a business, why don’t you want to protect your investment?

but nope. let’s just do nothing at all and see how that works out.

Hawks haven’t been drafting good at all in the last 10ish picks of the first round. (Where they usually end up picking.)Tbh the hawks havent had a good first round pick since Bruce Irvin and that was like 7-8 years ago. Rashad penny has his moments but will never be a lead nfl back. LJ collier was hurt for a large portion of last year but looked VERY unimpressive when he played. And we will see how Jordyn Brooks will do this season. But, over no surprise the hawks were so willing to part with multiple 1st rounders.
