On the bright side this draft is pretty deep at WR. A lot of speed in this draft at the position.

Can't you still re-sign Mathieu?

The Jets compensation was agreed to by KC, but Hill wanted MIA all along...he lives there, he trains there, his agent is HQ'd there, warm weather and all that money goes a lot further with no state sales tax.

Yea, I saw that...

https://www.espn.com/nfl/story/_/id/...-two-year-deal

The fact that Tyreek wanted to be the highest paid WR in the NFL really limited what the Chiefs could do with/for him. It's really a blessing that not 1 but 2 teams were willing to trade for him. Getting the cap space and 5 picks really is the best I think Veach could hope for in this situation.

So accepting that he wouldn't be a Chief makes it easier to view this trade with less emotion. I guess we'll see what Veach and company do with the picks, but based just on "the deal" I think he did really well.

I'm certainly more invested in the draft this year than I was before today. The season begins in April. I just wish this was the year KC was hosting the draft vs 2023.

Tyreek is a great football player currently, but I think you guys were wise with not giving him a long term extension. He’s entering his age 28 season as a receiver that relies on speed to win his routes. Those guys fall off a cliff suddenly and without warning. Hope all is well with you.

I somehow missed that news. I might have to make a trip for that. I've never been to a draft.

All is well. Just watching the AFC West get better and counting draft picks.

It's going to be a crazy year in the NFL (next season)....I "think" just like this NCAA Men's b-call tournament. Will there be any blue bloods left standing. We will see some new blood taking the mantle?

I think while everyone seems to be emulating the 2021/22 Rams (win now). I do like the Chiefs are zagging in a season where the West maybe the Hunger Games of the NFL.

The Packers are definitely drafting a receiver in the first round now. Marquez Valdes-Scantling signed with the Chiefs.

You are correct in a way:

https://www.arrowheadpride.com/2022/...or-tyreek-hill

The adams trade was the fork in the road that change it all for the Chiefs and Tyreek

If he can bump up his completion percentage, he could be Tyreek Lite

Locally, they are saying the Chiefs accepted both and let Tyreek make the decision....which as a Chiefs fan I'm glad. The Jets trade deal did not include a first round draft pick (based on local reports). The overall take from the local press is the Miami package was better.

Six teams have two first round picks and the Eagles have three.

Well i guess this is one way to try and get a new stadium...

I thought to myself didn't they already build a new stadium not too long ago and they did! I guess the shelf life is much shorter now for some reason and even only a couple decades old now they were already making noise about building a new one the last year or so.
