It doesn’t really matter since according the NFL policy doesn’t allow for the harsh penalties you want for a ‘non-violent sexual assault’ based on how it’s written. Judge Robinson said it would be wrong to impose a new policy after the fact. So, she imposed based on how past nonviolent acts were punished.

If the league truly wants to prevent things like this, then they need to change the policy to allow them harshly punish not just the players, but the team itself. Houston knew he was doing something wrong and choose to ignore or even help by having Watson start using NDAs for massage therapists to sign.

So, Judge Robinson’s ruling is more of an indictment on the NFL for how they don’t really care for these types of incidents to not have better deterrent policy to prevent and punish for if it does happen. They seem to only punish when someone notices something happen. That the league justs make up the rules as they go.

She said it was non violent & based on other suspensions that were 6 for conduct thats what she went with.
Thats just her opinion just cause shes a judge doesnt mean shes right.
Im just saying why she made it 6.
& again the nfl has it in their pocket to overrule it.

& as to what unsung also said this is what she wrote at the end of her statement:

“The NFL may be a ‘forward-facing’ organization, but it is not necessarily a forward-looking one,”
“Just as the NFL responded to violent conduct after a public outcry, so it seems the NFL is responding to yet another public outcry about Mr. Watson’s conduct. At least in the former situation, the Policy was changed and applied proactively. Here, the NFL is attempting to impose a more dramatic shift in its culture without the benefit of fair notice to — and consistency of consequence for — those in the NFL subject to the Policy."

To use the term "non-violent" and imply that there weren't people (victims) affected by his serial-type/predatory behavior is reckless and only seems to lessen what occurred.

This is true. The lack of empathy towards the victims has been the most surprising aspect of the Watson predation to me.

Jameis Winston had non violent susp & that was only 3 games so she's saying why should this be 1 yr then.
Difference between court rules & court of public opinion isnt the same.
Same reason you hear people say someone was found innocent when that's not true they were found not guilty....there's a difference.

Welp, it sounds like the NFL has a problem with the verbiage within its own guidelines and needs to make some changes...

Robinson indicated the league’s own guidelines, including the line it drew between violent and nonviolent offenses, limited her ability to recommend a stiffer penalty. But people who work with survivors say policies shouldn’t make this kind of distinction:

Precisely and they just appealed. He's not doing all this for nothing, he wanted and is now going for a season-long suspension.

Interesting. I still doubt Watson gets suspended for the season especially after the judges ruling. I'm guessing he will double the 6 game suspension to 12 games.

Couldnt bet here but my friend who bets offshore took the yes -135 so he won.
