Not detail oriented/undisciplined/bad ingame coach examples always lots of penalties & daks last play fiasco last yr that was never practiced with a ref to spot the ball which obv takes more time.

Is Carr like Matt Stafford? Can he win if he was on a better team with better coaching?

I always lumped him in the ‘good’ but not great tier.

Good TY Hilton signing. He was a top 10 receiver for many years and looks like he still has some juice left.

That's true. If another job with a proven Qb is available, that could be more attractive than dealing with Jones everyday.

Alot of qbs can win heck dilfer won a SB.

But the worse the qb is the better the rest of the team around him has to be & thats the hard part then.

I think he is an average and at small samples above average for a QB, certainly worth nowhere near what he is making, but it seems many teams just throw it against the wall and hope it sticks these days.

I hear lots saying the Jets, but he had arguable better weapons in Vegas and did nothing with them. He has also had every opportunity to prove he is a top guy and never seems to take it.

McCarthy and Payton are similar to me. Both had all-time greats for QB’s, won the SB early in their careers and never could get back. Don’t really see him as a major upgrade over McCarthy. Even Troy Aikman is saying he should go elsewhere.

Looks like Payton would prefer the Chargers’ HC job. Coaching Herbert seems like the more exciting prospect than Prescott.

Well if aikman thinks that....then he should DEFINATELY go to DAL.

As far as Payton to LAC, I haven't heard any rumblings about Staley's job being in jeopardy

In regards to Carr, he was playing so much better under Gruden so a change in coach, scenery may do him some good. I get that they are looking to save money but if the option is to draft and go young, you're losing a lot of what you gave up to get Adams - but Raiders gonna Raider.

I don’t think his job is on the line either. It’s just a preference for Payton.

Carr has been getting screwed the past few years, first with the coaching change to Gruden, then with the Brady Rumors, now with this. Team has been behind Carr for years hes not half bad, problem is its the Raiders they are so dysfunctional. You put Carr on a team like the 49ers or Chiefs he wins a Super Bowl.

Totally agree. The NYJ will be in the market for a veteran QB, but honestly, I'd rather have an injury prone Jimmy G than Carr.

Herbert/Chargers are good but not great. Chiefs can be beaten…. they won’t always be the NFL’s darlings like they have been. The crypto scandal is whatever. Why anyone does that crap is beyond me.
This was suppose to be a down year for the Chiefs. As long as you have Reid, Mahomes and Veach (GM)...you'll may not be the "darlings", but you will always have a chance.

I think the Chiefs would benefit from new (young) blood in the OC position.

The top QB coach tandem will make it to the divisional round every year. Right now that's Mahomes and Reid.

DC, I wasn't responding to your comments. I was quoting Bizcat.

In terms of the Chiefs and a "down year"...I was reflecting the perception of the AFC West fan bases, including the Chiefs. As we all know, before the season started, the general fan base consensus was Tyreek's gone and everyone else has taken a step up. Just ask Bart Scott

https://denverfan.com/2097444/bart-s...offs-entirely/

I do think even as a Chiefs fan, I'm pleased and surprised we are vying for the number 1 spot in the AFC.
