El Rey, I’ve always been on the Baker train. Admired his play in college and Cleveland and felt they did him dirty. So it aches me having to root against him this weekend.

McCarthy isn't the reason the Cowboys choke in the playoffs. Dak can't handle the pressure. Notice how he loosened up when the game was essentially out of reach.

Speaking of choking, we’ll see this weekend if Lamar can get over his playoff slump. He has never had a passer rating higher than 78.8 in a playoff game and has been intercepted in all four games. He has a 1-3 record as a starter in the playoffs.

GB’s defense also loosened up in the second half (more so in the 4th quarter) when the game was all but out of reach. Allowed Dak to get those garbage time stats.

He may have lost a step, but he can still win with a team that’s right there from a talent standpoint like Dallas or the Chargers and it’s clear he wants to win now and not in year 2 or later wherever he goes so he can break Don Shula’s record.

But yeah, I’d go with the Lions over Tampa by virtue of clearly being the superior team playing at home and the Bucs barely squeaking by with the worst division in the league. It’s gonna be another “they are who we thought they were” moment and I don’t think it’s gonna be particularly close. They faced an imploding Eagles team that inexplicably lost 5 of their last 6 after starting the year 10-1 at home because they play in said weak sauce division, remember that.

Possibly. The Packers did pull their starters after the last touchdown that made the score 48-16. So also likely the the 2nd/3rd stringers not executing as well. Maybe a combination of both.

I think this is the final year of his contract. He'll simply get the Jason Garrett treatment if we don't go past the divisional round, Jerry will hire someone else.

I didn't know that. That combined with the secondary playing soft (along with the pressure being off) would explain how he suddenly got big stats.

I got curious and decided to re-watch the ensuing Dallas drive after the last Packers TD as I don't remember what the Packers D was doing exactly (beer will do that to you ). And yeah, looks like mostly soft zone and corners lined up 10-12 yards off the LOS.

For some reason Quinn was running that from jump, no idea why anyone thinks he's a good DC. Every time we play a good team(no the Eagles don't count), our defense gets dog walked up and down the field. Sometimes bad offenses like Arizona do it too.

Yeah I noticed that off the bat. First thing I thought of is why he was taking queues from the Packers DC from mid-season lol. They looked like they were playing scared.

It was way too soon. There were still 10+ minutes at that point, but LaFleur I guess got too confident. He put Love back in the game on that last series.

I tuned out when it got to 48-16, I'm curious myself so I'll check it out as well. I might rewatch the whole game cause I do enjoy meltdowns by heavily favored teams...especially the Cowboys.

What a dope.
One of our local sports talk station said they confirmed with a local Tampa sports talk host that the person asking the question was from Tampa station's news group, not from the sports dept. They didn't have anyone to cover, so they sent a news reporter.

IMHO, just a small example of cost cutting measures impacting the level of local reporting.

I was admittedly also distracted at that point watching social medial blow up.
