NFL Places restrictions on him

According to ESPN, Brady won't be allowed in non-Raiders facilities (besides the stadiums he works to call games from). He can't watch practices. He can't attend broadcast production meetings in any capacity, which is a massive restriction on an announcer as those meetings are used to craft talking points and insight to carry a broadcast for three-plus hours.

He also can't criticize game officials or other teams, which, again, is a wild limit to put on a broadcaster. He'd basically have to watch a potential game-changing missed call and either stay quiet or deflect blame away from the refs. That's just a terrible disservice to viewers.

I dont think the broadcasting career is going to go for too long. He may of been the greatest QB in my generation to play the game but he is not that good at calling games in the booth imo.

He always seems to emphasize like every word he speaks and it is grating to me trying to watch a game with him calling it. It's like he is trying to do a bad impression of Romo calling a game, he needs to can the screaming act and just talk like a normal person.

eh, I think he's fine in the booth, not terrible but not great. also, he's only half a season into it. the competitor in him will just want to improve.

so with the Cooper trade - what is CLE strategy here? I mean any other team you would think tank for a high draft pick and rebuild but they are locked in with Watson for many years to come and it seems like he is just there to cash a check at this point.

Not really sure. It could be they’re getting draft capital for a potential trade (with Carolina most likely). They did restructure his contract this past summer and most of what he was owed was changed to a signing bonus to make cap room. It’s the last year in his contract too. Plus, Cooper looked very out of it in games. He dropped several easy passes (a few that would have probably went for TDs) including one that led to an interception that changed the game dramatically. The team has been playing awful (not just Watson), they aren’t doing anything this year. It’s like someone forgot to tell that football is back.

Pretty wild that in a game where RB's are typically on a sharp decline by their late 20's and typically effectively done by age 30, Derrick Henry is close to 31 and having the best year of his career and on track for right around 2,000 yards rushing, with a crazy 5.9 YPC. I definitely didn't expect him to be this durable after the large number of carries/hits from his peak Tennessee years. I don't even think he's caused a single turnover this year.

This is the game of the week. Should be on primetime. With that said, I'm not feeling very confident coming off the bye with all the momentum on the Lions. But yeah, I'm in.
