Really?...Interesting observation...I think he'll get in D-A. Five NFC Title games, 6 Pro Bowls & over 3,000 yards rushing...I guess time will tell, but if I had a vote he'd get in. Would you vote him in?

I would vote him in, other than 2004 for 12 games and 2005, he never really had a #1 receiver. He did usually have a great defense and a great rushing attack though so that evens out a bit. He still continued to lead the Iggles to great success for year after year, even after the Cowboys and Giants and to some extent the Redskins became competitive.

OK...we agree . Remember when he was drafted and the Eagles fans at the draft were Booing the selection...Typical, seeing as they Booed Santa and Mike Schmidt (500+ HR'S and more than a dozen Gold Gloves).

They would've booed anybody that wasn't Ricky Williams but what I will never forgive them for is basically cheering the end of Michael Irvin's career. Was Irvin a good person? No but that doesn't mean you should get up and cheer when he suffers a career-ending injury either. I also remember when McNabb did that air guitar dance going through the tunnel in 2009 at Jerry World right before we ripped the Iggles 24-7 and then stomped them again 34-14 the week after.

Agreed Mike...Flyer fans can cram it. (remember this...they gave this imbecile season tickets...seriously). Love the way the Philly announcers justify this fan's behaviour ...nice to see Ty feed him a couple of strong ones. I know this fan took some stitches because of Domi's punches.

Can I answer too

Looking back over the stats and maybe we're just spoiled today but most of his pro bowl seasons don't scream pro bowl quality to me. There's some solid seasons in there and 2004, 2009 and I suppose 2000 because of the rush yards say pro bowl worthy but not so much for the others. Or maybe it's because it seems pro bowls are handed out to winning qb's instead of destroy you every week qb's.

How many Qb's do you you put in? There's Brady, P. Manning, Warner, Brees, Favre, Roethlisberger who will be in. So that's six qb's already.

The lack of a #1 receiver is a good point though Brees never needed a #1, Peyton could make anybody a star Brady didn't have a true #1 for several years.

Is being remembered as a solid QB such a bad thing? Why is the validity and sucess of every career now defined by requiring a hall of fame induction?

Not every player is a HOFer, I mean Danny White and Dandy Don will always be remembered by Cowboys fans, neither of them got into the HOF. McNabb was just a physical freak that got it done year in and out. Brees, Manning(Peyton) and Brady are all elite, McNabb was always just a hair under, like Romo.

Looking more like Smith will join Turner out the door

Quote:
Chargers President Dean Spanos, according to those around the team and around the league, feels he has “no choice” but to go in another direction at head coach and that Turner will be fired at season’s end.

Sources close to Spanos say the boss is still grappling with whether to fire Smith. But league sources familiar with Spanos’ thinking contend the GM will almost certainly be fired due to the owner’s concern over the maelstrom that has taken hold of the fan base, essentially demanding the owner lop off the top of his football operation management.

And Smith, according to league sources, will be on the list of candidates to become the Oakland Raiders general manager in 2012.

Lions DT Ndamukong Suh was involved in a minor car accident in his native Portland, Ore. on Saturday morning, but was able to walk away uninjured.
Suh reportedly crashed a 1970 Chevrolet Coupe into a tree around 1:15 AM. A bizarre incident, but Portland police determined he was not "impaired," and simply lost control of his vehicle. Suh is away from the Lions while he serves a two-game suspension for his Thanksgiving stomp of Packers RG Evan Dietrich-Smith. He'll be allowed to return in Week 15 against the Raiders.

McNabb will get into the HOF. Will he be first ballot? Maybe. I think it will take him a few years after being eligible to get in, but he will.

5 10+ win seasons
8 winning seasons
Superbowl game appearance that they should have won if the Pats wouldn't had cheated
1 NFC Championship
5 NFC Championship game appearances
6X Pro Bowler
59% career passing
234 career touchdowns (2:1 TD/INT ratio)
85.6 QB career rating
37,276 career passing yards
3,459 career rushing yards
29 career rushing TDs
Ranks as one of the lowest career INT percentage all-time

He will get into the HOF.

Yes that's nice and all but think about who isn't in the hall of fame: Boomer Esiason, Ken Stabler, Randall Cunningham, Dave Krieg and Phil Simms. Is McNabb better than all of those? Most would say no.

Come on really? Look at the stats and what was accomplished. Cunningham, Esiason, and David Krieg wouldn't get in before McNabb. Stabler threw more interceptions than touchdowns. The only reason he and Simms would get in is because of their SB wins. I'd love for Simms to get in because of him being from Kentucky though.

I agree Donovan had a nice career but not a HOfer. A couple of those qb's you mentioned have Super Bowl rings which definitely helps elevate your HOF status so you would think if McNabb gets in then Stabler and Simms have to go in and they aren't getting in anytime soon. McNabb also played in a helluva weak era in the NFC. The teams weren't very good and the qb's weren't good either during Donovan's prime.

Your argument isn't very compelling though either.

Pro Bowls mean next to nothing. McNabb was an injury replacement player for all but the 2004 pro bowl. Never all-pro. Also 1-4 in NFC championship games where his team was favored every time. Of those he only played well in two of five. I can overlook playoff dissapointment should a player be consistently elite in the regular season like P. Manning or Marino. Except for 2004, he was never an elite quarterback. McNabb was always in the very good tier.

I've never understood the hate by some when it comes to McNabb. He's easily a HOF'er IMO. I don't see any way he makes first ballot, but he'll make it.
