Yes, Jeff Hostettler was starter on one of those Giants Super Bowl wins. Simms is a marginal HOF'er IMO but I would have voted him in. Injuries hurt him throughout his career.

Phil Simms had perhaps the greatest superbowl performance of alltime when he beat Elway's Broncos in 1986.

22-25 268 yards 3-0 TD-INT 150.9 rating.

Just guessing but I think he meant to say only played in one. And yes, it was one of the best Super Bowl QB performances ever. But he's right that Simms did get injured a LOT. Only 8 seasons where he played 10+ games. As I said, I'd vote Simms into the HOF, but he's a marginal HOF'er and I can understand why he's not in thus far.

And I suddenly remembered why I almost never watch cable TV except for sports these days. This "Voice" show sucks. Time to watch a movie.

Before this season though, there was nothing in Eli's portfolio to say he was a hall of famer and that the won as a Giant thing was irrelevant because of Simms.

Super Bowl XXV is actually the first Super Bowl I still recall watching. I was 10 years old and at the time a big Dolphins fan so I was rooting for the Giants by default since I hated the rival Bills. Epic game that came down to the last kick.

Funny thing is Hostetler almost never played a game going into the 1990 playoffs. He only started 4 games in his entire career to that point, yet led the 1990 Giants to the Super Bowl. Hostetler had a quite forgettable career yet in the playoffs he threw 7 TD's, 0 Int's with a 4-1 post-season record.

Come on now. You can't claim him as a Redskin from playing only 6 games for ya. And mediocre games at that.

Well yeah, maybe that. Otherwise, it's all good.

To see Brandy and the Pats fail in the Super Bowl (against the Giant no less) is priceless!!!!

Does Eli now own the most titles of any player drafted first overall?

Bledsoe I think has two right?

*edit he only got the one Brady won for him, I forgot he lost to the Pack... I could have swore he got another one prior to that packers game.

What titles would those be? He only has 1 ring and he got that as a back-up to Tom Brady.

I fixed it I thought he got in 3 of them the packers one, the rams one and the mysterious one that never existed.

He's the reason they got to the superbowl that Brady won so he deserves that ring.

I am so thrilled that the Giants won...but only to the extent that I couldn't be happier that the Patriots lost.

Great game!!
